Wow. At first I figured that an ARB generator review would be boring, but the instaView is a very unique feature to think about. Maybe you can use it as a 2-port VNA with an "app" download? This instrument has many possibilities.

I have a felling more of these apps will come in the future.

The software on this instrument very much resembles that of the ancient Tek awg2021 I just refurbished. Basic Layout, labeling, functions, etc. This one just has much more.

They need to work more on that Instaview software. It is a shame that they could implement all the hardware capabilities and then they screwed it up with the UI.

10:36 Why does the 10 bit / stage delay chip have an 11th stage that seems to feed back?

Maybe to get longer delays?

Thanks Shahriar. I'm still watching the video but maybe I can already ask a basic question: I see the DACs are 14 bits, whereas much less renowned brands today commonly offer 16 bits. How important is that for an AFG?!?

Thank you for the video! That ground coupling is interesting - can you explain more about it? Really curious what's the matter with that.

When I go to Run Mode menu I cannot select "Sequence", it is stuck on "Continuous". Any idea why?

Underdeveloped UI and no mouse and keyboard support. Seems to be a solution that forgot the very problem it was trying to overcome. And, tbh, I'd much prefer to do the waveform composition on a PC anyhow. Priced from £2k to £13k inc. VAT. Not so sure it justifies the pricing..

Instrument signon message @ 17:35: "Keithley, a Tektronix company". Interesting.

Keithley has been a Tektronix company for a while now. :)
@stevefriedl39835 жыл бұрын
@@Thesignalpath I know that, but this instrument is badged "Tektronix", not Keithley, unless I've missed something. Do they mix-or-match their branding?
@Thesignalpath5 жыл бұрын
@@stevefriedl3983 Oh! Sorry, I misunderstood. It is possible that some part of the firmware was originally developed by Keithley. It does have some resemblance to their work.

@MichaelKingsfordGray desmos is a great open source graphing calculator/ equation editor/ math visualisation tool, and since it's open source, someone could use their GUI.

"The Channel1FPGA recognize successfully!" "Channel1 2G PLL clock successfully!" ... Is that thing running beta firmware? The person who wrote the power on test messages either didn't care, or didn't speak english.

I don't understand one thing. How to get 2GSps data bus from FPGA to DAC. As example most of FPGA clock tree performance is 100-600MHz, and regular IO could go up to 200MHz CMOS, ~600MHz LVDS, So how could they push that mush data through FPGA ? ( 2GBps at 16b is 32Gbps) Are they using transceivers ? But that would be too many for 2 dac's
@AllElectronicsGr5 жыл бұрын
Using multiple channels in parallel 😅
@Kilohercas5 жыл бұрын
@@AllElectronicsGr Does not work, since Samples per second, not data rate. Samples means you need to transfer 14b each cycles. So even at DDR, you need 1GHz clock with parallel port
