Love the details! Sure wish they would simply publish the pricing - even if it is just 'guidline' pricing. In case they read this comment, I generally don't 'call for price' - I move on to the next option instead.

If you're buying high-end equipment like this, you know that "list price" is mostly useful as an upper bound. But it's fine as a filtering criteria. When there's no price published, my take-away is that it's a shocking number and they don't want to chase their prospects away. Which they do, anyway. Why would you make it hard for someone to give you money? If price is no object, then I'm shopping for a premium brand.

For you: only 8 lakh or 800,000 Rupees (~ $10k USD) !! Included at no extra charge is an illegible, pastel, low contrast, thin & tiny character GUI, and numerous software enhancements (a.k.a. "bugs") along with this big, heavy box of thick aluminum. When can they expect your money order (in Rupees, of course) ?

Can we see how does the VNA6000 from NanoRFE and how it is compared to the Field Fox and this. Also to maybe check how they get the cost so cheap compared to the rest.

It’s a shame they didn’t go for a USB-C PD connector as well. 46W is perfectly doable even with the initial version of USB-PD.

Its a small and fragile connector for "cost sensitive" consumer electronics. The USB-B they used is way more solid, I am a big fan of those

@@drkastenbrotSorry, but I do not agree. Physical dimensions are almost Always a good indicator of roboustness, as already stated above. You have to immagine multiple connections and disconnections due to portable nature of this equipment and obviously a tiny connector like USB -PC Is more prone to failure than the One chosen by the manufacturer. This Is MHO. Regards.

Nice review! Surprised to see those huge resistive couplers off board. I wonder if they can extend the low frequency coverage to single digit KHz like the Keysight P series streamline analyzers. Is the coupler AC coupled internally? I would imagine that the source/reciever hardware can tune lower than 300k. Design looks like bias tees and electronic attenuators (source and/or reciever) could be retrofitted relatively easily as hardware options with bolt-in modules. As long as they have the power and IO on the motherboard.

Did they just copy Agilent's VNA interface from the XP days, hoping Keysight didn't inherit the rights? Man, that looks exactly like the PNA we have at work.

hope signalhound comes out with a VNA once in a time, would be great -- but nice device... and including TDR ! @sharia For the TDR measuements, would be great to get more in depth informations how this is done mathematically etc.. I have a TDR option for my R&S VNA ZNLE14 for example, which is helpful, but your experiments and explanations would really be super helpful to get an in depth understanding for exampe on the harmonic settings and windows and pulse types.

Cool unit! Love the super-fast sweep rate :D As for triggering, I hate to ask, but are your inputs connected to outputs? If 1:39 is anything to go by, 18:39 suggests that the two white coax cables were reversed. If so, maybe worth a follow-up?

Stacks of interesting stuff to think about ! (as always) But a bit off topic but maybe you can help or maybe one of the viewers, I am mucking around with audio and I saw for sale a 'Spectral Dynamics SD340 Micro FFT Analyzer' and I can't find much info like specs and so on but as far as I understand it this device outputs an FFT of the audio spectrum but I don't even know if this will be as good as my 8 bit scope in FFT mode ? I guess it must but I don't know for sure. My question then is, is it what I think and would it be a step up from my 8 bit Siglent in terms of learning about frequency and all its complexity or is it an ancient boat anchor not even design to test audio signals please ?....cheers.

The presence of third harmonic at -11dBc is a sure indication of a square wave drive. They are almost certainly using one of the single chip synthesisers such as the ADF4355. In order to get down to 300kHz, they must have external dividers as well. If they use the same chip for the LO, then the LO drive to the mixer would be a square wave as well. What degradation in performance ( if any) would result from this? I think there might be a degradation in the noise floor. Do high end VNAs ever use square wave drive? Cosmo Little

Unclear, but there are advertised prices online coming out of India for about $8500 USD. I imagine that it's between 6-10K USD as of Aug 2023. So just north of an HP8753ES 6 GHz model from 2002 on the used market. Much faster in a lot of ways & more portable for sure.

Congrats to the Sanko and Bird marketing teams! This has got to be one of the most underwhelming product introductions I've seen in years! For the price of a new car* they send this box out without fully functional firmware, illegible software and an incomplete website. 🙄 *You can buy a car from India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki a brand new Fronx, Ignis or Baleno and still have a couple of $ Grand $ left in your pocket

Well, it does give the impression of beta test software. Maybe not even beta. Some of the bugs Shariar shows should with 100% certainty have been caught in inhouse testing. Very nice looking hardware, for now questionable soft/firmware. Looking forward to the finished product I'd say
