If you are a full time FERS employee you are getting the match. You should easily be able to see it on your annual or even quarterly statement.

One more question... to my understanding we can only contribute to TSP while in service, however if we retire will there still be contributions to TSP taken out of our income from pension payments? Thank you and I apologize for any inconvenience.

If i started out with traditional TSP and later switched to Roth TSP, will i only pay the taxes later on the amount that i put while under tradition TSP? Is there a way to "roll over" that money from traditional funds into Roth funds so that way i don't have to worry about any taxes in the future? Would the funds fall in two seperate categories? I hope my question(s) makes sense. I don't know exactly how this would work.

You spoke that 1% is automatically contributed. I have never seen any contribution before or after i started contributing. TSP ROTH option, by the way. Hi thanks for the useful information. Just to clarify if I only contribute 5% into my Roth tsp and none into my regular tsp then they will match a total of 5% still since I am doing a total of 5%? Also I have another question though. If I'm contributing 5% in my regular TSP and 5% in my ROTH tsp do they match 5% for each of your contributions (for a total of %10) or do they only do a total of 5% total matching? Thanks again I've subscribed & liked your content

Thank you- I can’t see a traditional TSP though? Which is where I’m assuming the match went. Also on my statement I don’t see any matching agency contribution, which is a bit odd. I would like to direct which fund I’d like the agency contribution to go to. For context - I was previously a GS employee with a traditional TSP , which I maxed out every year so I declined my National Guard TSP. However , now that I don’t work for the government , I opened my Roth TSP through national guard. And I’m not seeing a matching contribution. Let me know if you have any idea what’s going on!
