Something I would like to see besides the modest HP gain is the weight savings or conversely, the lack thereof regarding these various add on systems. Weight loss is also equal to HP gain. Maybe you guys could produce a much longer video, or an in part video series, detailing what modification combinations gained the most with these after market exhausts and the estimated or actual associated costs. I.e., header pipe and exhaust install equals a weight and horsepower gain over factory components. The factory system equals this amount of horse power and weighs x amount vs. the aftermarket system with and improved air filter and ECU mapping change, header pipe and aftermarket exhaust results in x overall horsepower and weight savings. I do not know what the catalytic converter weighs, but it is sure to be a fair amount. A video or a series of videos like that would be a very interesting video for those of us who just do some online research and guess a bit at what would be best and thus attempt moderate modifications to achieve these goals.

@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
All performance characteristic of these exhausts, when considering only the change of the exhaust with nothing additional, are very small and pretty insignificant. Even taking off the couple pounds that sheds when you go aftermarket doesn't do much for you. You would have to go the distance, like on Bryan's bike.
@brandonramirez135 жыл бұрын
Awesome series of videos guys. What did he do to his CBR to get HP gains like that? I’m looking to get either a TBR or Yoshi full exhaust and tune for my ‘19 600rr. Is there any concerns I should have or different mods I should consider?
@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
If you want to maximize your gains from what you already listed then consider a good air filter also, and make sure that the tune is done on the dyno with torque optimization, tuning ingnition and fuel. You can get close to Bryan's numbers. His motor has a thinner head gasket and degreed cams on top of the bolt-on stuff so his peak figures and curve are going to be tough to reach without getting into your motor.

@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with that man. 600's are awesome. We ride and race anything we can get our hands on...from 125's to 1000's. They are all fun and require a different skill set. Collecting all those skill sets makes you a better overall rider. The autotune will do a lot of good for you on its own if you know how to set it up. If you do take it to the dyno make sure you can give the tuner access to your ignition timing if you want the most out of that setup.

@@TSTindustries Fellas.....I understand exactly what you were doing and set out to accomplish. Yes....slip ons do not add any meaningful power....they couldn't....in the 90's slip ons yield 4 or 5 HP and 2 lbs of torque . My point was the Akrapovic yielded the 2nd best results in a small field. I can watch it again but I don't think you supplied A/F readings. The Akra fits well, makes a little more power but is a well made piece of equipment. Here's the stuff I have done lately......www.dragbike.com/collins-cooper-past-becoming-future/?fbclid=IwAR3sRoLq4da6sxpQpnV314P2i00x-vZM03RWUXlo-2kdXe69-YInJKUkTrc I redesigned, rebuilt those engines etc etc etc etc. My point ......I know exactly what you dudes are doing. Christ....I make a billet block to take SOHC 750's out to 72 mm from a stock of 61mm. My 75 SOHC makes 105HP.....but you guys weren't even born in 1975. And....it was lucky to make 50 HP on a great day after a fresh tune up and only 2,000 miles on the engine new. The only way to get real HP out of those recent Honda engines is to dump the CAT and get the squish to .035 or .032.....Honda buries those pistons deep in the hole. Get the squish tight and you'll start making real power. I may have forgotten more then you fellas will know about motorcycle engines. No disrespect intended as I am fairly old.

Back in the old days (and for some of us that still have really old bikes), would carbureted motorcycles have gotten bigger gains than fuel injection (FI) because the carbs could be rejetted to supply more fuel but with FI that doesn't occur unless the intake is modified to send more air through? I have a Two Brothers slip-on installed on a '95 Honda CB1000 and it worked pretty well. Wondering if having carbs helped.
@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
This is a very good question. Re-jetting carbs is the olden days equivalent of FI tuning. Re-jetting on most bikes involved changing main jets, pilot jets, plugging air passages, changing slide springs and needles, and shimming the needles up or down. Nowadays we use a piggyback fuel computer or re-flash the ECU to precisely tune the A/F mixture. For this video we wanted to show how little effect you get if you just install a slipon exhaust. This is a modification that most people make to their bike, and most of them just leave it at that, swearing that it made some sort of noticeable difference, and contending that one brand of exhaust does better than others in a considerable way. This video was meant to be a myth bust as we gear up to shoot subsequent videos showing the progress of a bike through different stages of bolt-ons and tuning. As you can see from Bryan's bike, which was tuned through repeatedly flashing the ECU until a good balance point, more gains are there if you tune the bike properly. I do believe that a proper tune on the bike with the stock exhaust provides more performance gain than changing just the back end of the exhaust system.

I love the sound and want a toce exhaust for my 600 but I also think I might sell my 600 cuz it was a "surprise project bike" and I've spent more time working on it than riding it. Hopefully nothing else pops up after I clean/rebuild my master cylinder and calipers/pistons or else I'm just going to tap out. I've already had to rebuild the forks and do lots of general maintenance. This is what I get for being a clown and not spending more time inspecting the bike before buying it off craigslist. If I keep my 600 or get a new 600, even though the toce slip on makes less gains than the others, it just sounds too nice. Thanks for the comparison and wish me luck.
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
I wish you luck brother. I know rebuilding calipers sucks, especially if they aren't monoblock. It's inevitable that brake fluid gets on something you don't want it on. These bikes are notorious for crappy front brake feel...especially 07-08 before they got monoblocks. Anyway, I hope this is your last hurtle and you can finally enjoy the bike.

When will you guys get toce back in stock for the cbr 600rr?
@tonykartracer80325 жыл бұрын
I just poke holes through the stock muffler, man.... it's dope, YO! Sounds mean as hell, and probably gave it a few horsepower too. All for the introductory low price of..... FREE! Gyeah!!

Guarantee it actually sounds sloppy loud, no exhaust ever sounded good after drilling holes in it

In your experience and opinion, what is the best size or long tip for a suzuki gsxr 1000 K5? The bike is in stock. Thanks
@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
My opinion would be biased because we only deal Toce and Yoshimura. There are many good slipon exhausts out there, and as we proved with this video, just slipons will not vary greatly between each other in performance. Just get the one that suits your taste best.

I know im a year late watching this but goddamn that toce exhaust sounded godly 👌 will it sound better if its full system toce exhaust?

Hello I have a 02 929 and currently have a yoshimura slip on , on my exhaust In your opinion what would be the best exhaust for my bike ?
@TSTindustries5 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the budget you are on and how much performance you want to free up with this endeavor. The 929 is a familiar beast to me. I have owned 2 of them. I actually made the exhaust for the first one I owned. That bike was released before the environmental laws for vehicles became very strict. There is no catalytic converter box on the exhaust. It does have a valve body, and a pre-muffler in the collector pipe just fore of the silencer. Once you get rid of the OEM silencer and get a good flowing one (like the Yoshimura you mentioned), you've done most of what you can do for the bike in respect to the exhaust. You can go with a full exhaust and take advantage of less in-line components for a lighter weight and stronger output. This performance will not manifest itself unless you actually tune the bike though. A better use of your money would be to get a really good flowing air intake filter and get the bike dyno tuned by a reputable shop with a piggyback fuel computer, or re-flashing the ECU. Just a bolton of a different exhaust will not give you much advantage over what you already have.

I had to remove the Toce and go back to stock on my 600RR because it's so loud I started getting tinnitus. It will chronically damage your hearing without a doubt. It was money out the window which is a shame because it looks and sounds badass.

I may be getting old but I too am pretty sensitive to loud exhaust in the last couple years. The last two race seasons I have been wearing earplugs regularly and still getting a whole head ring after the event. This is of course with a full exhaust but regardless of size of bike. At this point I think I'm most down with stock exhausts.

Awesome video! Would love to know what I need to buy from you all to get my bike in line with Bryan's... Parts list please :)
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
We did a thinner head gasket on that bike. When we had the head off the bike we cut a third angle in the valve seats. We also did a cam degree to move some of the power up higher. Besides that the rest was all bolt-on and tuning. As you saw in the vid he had a full Arrow exhaust, a racing high flow filter by MWR, Woolich Racing flashing software, 520 pitch lightweight drive train, etc. The bike was tuned by our staff here. Pretty minimal SS build actually. I was basing my answer on you probably just wanting to match the engine output to Bryan's. There were many things done to that bike that improved its performance outside of power delivery. Things like suspension, mass removal, geometry/suspension setup, pit performance enhancements, etc.
