I'm half Korean and Filipino I was in Korea until 10 years old, in Korea there's parents day and our school make it as school event when we bring our parents to school, my mom is not fluent Korean speaker that's why I'm kinda nervous that my class might laugh at her but no they did not laugh at her but instead they laugh at her job, my mother is factory worker and when my mother said that most parent laugh and there's one parent say my mother is an slave, even teacher laugh in that, that's why after that day I ask my mom why she's not upset in that and she reply she's use to it and explain that if you're not full Korean and work as like factory worker most people will look down on them and after that I got bullied I'm kinda shock because I'm quite popular in school and suddenly people start bullying me and even some my close friends, the whole school year I experience all kinds of bullying not only from students even from teacher, i just finish that school year and we decided to go back to Philippines, everytime when my classmates know that I'm half Korean and grow up there they are jealous because they want to experience that like growing up and studying there, if they only know most of Korean people is not nice like they see in kdrama, till now sometimes I'm shamed for being half Korean and I hope that I'm full Filipino instead.

The reality is brutal...Just because we like k-pop and kdrama doesn't mean korea is all about unicorns and rainbows. Korea has too many serious issues like bullying, suicidal rate, racism, colorism, they are against feminism(female idols got backlash just because they support feminism), the government covering there major scandals with idol/actor scandals, society pressure about looks and body weight. We see all the glittery world of k-pop idols but behind that god knows what happens with them. Their society is really messed up many don't really see it because not everybody can see what's inside when evrything is beautiful outside. I am into k-pop and kdrama since 2015 ang I love it. But I know everything we see on camera is not true you only know about that idol what they wanna show. So it would be great if people can differentiate between virtual world and reality.

A friend of mine lived in Korea and this is exactly what she experienced there. She got a beautiful tan skin but her colleagues used to make fun of her cause of that, she was even bullied for having curly hair. She said a lot ppl advised her to lose weight and go though skin whitening treatments when was in South Korea which is just so ridiculous. Now she's back to her hometown and she feels better living there. Idk y but a lot of ppl romanticize S Korea, no country is perfect all of them have some issues and that's how the world is made. Korean beauty standards are Insane almost all the ppl frm age 17-40 have already got their faces done.
