Tsuki isn't a scorer but scores a decent amount. In terms of impact on the game he's essential. He's Karasunos iron wall. Noya doesn't score a single fucking point and he's the most crucial player on the team. If the ball hits the ground it's over, Tsuki and Noya primarily stop that from happening. Daichi is also the most solid player on the team who does what needs to be done. He's literally Noya's right hand man to receiving.

He blocked Ushijima who is the third best spiker in Japan plus he won them their crucial first set. Their offenses are pretty much on par regarding scoring points, but this time it was defense that sealed the deal. Before that they were able to simply keep the ball in play (which isn't easy of course), but now they won the set and made it 1-1 each. Going down 2-0 would have been the end.

@@JO.FE17 you misunderstand. Ushiwaka is a top spiker. This isn't an exaggeration. He NEVER gets blocked. That's why it's a big deal. DEFENSE VS OFFENSE......Tsukki is a middle blocker so the argument is silly. He's a first year ...starting. If he wasn't a good player he wouldn't be on the starting line-up. There are other 3rd years with more experience on the bench but Tsukki is on the court not them. Daichi tested both Tsukki and Yamaguchi when they joined and though they didn't show the match he did say that they are great players. Tsukki just wasn't motivated. You can't compare point scores because Tsukki is a middle blocker so he obviously won't score as much as Tanaka. Nishinoya doesn't score AT ALL...that doesn't mean he's not essential to the team.

honestly same, i was so excited when they started watching but i started noticing how rob was shitting on other players and it started annoying me. at first i brushed it off, because its fine to have a certain character you dislike but then he started putting other players down for doing nothing. if hinata gets blocked, he's trash - but if kageyama gets blocked? he was unlucky, he wasn't trying, he isn't warmed up, rob will use any excuse to make kageyama look good. I might have a bias since tsukki is one of my favourite characters, but this was HIS MOMENT. Patrick needs to realize that the only reason he is saying “Tsuki hasn’t done anything like this-“ and is under the impression that tsuki wasn’t playing consistently good before this event is because until now there was never a spiker of this quality. For the most part every team karasuno played Tsuki has gotten at least 1 block along with many one touches. You can’t expect him to play to this “quality” against anyone else because afterwards he will go back to what you deemed as “not ballin” (which is actually just consistently good plays). Like seriously, this is the strongest ace in their prefecture...who else could Tsuki have a moment like this with that the block would feel so amazing. And since he is the strongest in the prefecture then there is no one to beat here afterwards to uphold this “ballin’” level of game play. You only noticed Tsuki because of his opponent, because he has always gotten blocks. You guys just never saw it as “ballin’” because in your heads you deemed the other teams as weak. He’s always been doing his job on the court...he has just learned new tricks.
@ui-gok90834 жыл бұрын
so if the other spikers are weaker than ushijima, why didnt tsukki get more blocks? Im not saying he was playing bad, but if we take this game as balling, then he wasn't near this level. Lets take dateko for example. Their defense is balling every game. And tsukki was nowhere near their level
@mercuryx65874 жыл бұрын
Blend Sejdiu but he did... he averaged more blocks on all his other games over this one. His stats in literally every other game has surpassed this one block. And in the past games he scored more points than in this one. Just because they showed this block in slow motion from 3 different angles doesn’t mean he hasn’t been playing like this in games already. Hence my comment above^ tsuki only gained a love for volleyball nothing sufficient happened to make him now able to recieve blocks...he didn’t gain 25 pounds and start growing 10 inches. He just learned to time his attacks to match his appoint. He brought himself up in order to match his opponent. Just like he matched his opponents in the past who *didn’t* do super serves. He’s always had these types of stats. Once again, you guys only deemed this as “ballin” because the one he blocked this time was ushiwaka... he’s never once played his position poorly or less than this.
@mercuryx65874 жыл бұрын
Blend Sejdiu also pat says that hinata is someone who he deems as “ballin” although tsuki is technically more advanced than hinata. He is a better receiver, better blocker, has never missed a serve, and is quite reliable. So I don’t even think pat knows what he means by ballin’, he probably just means “shows the most energy” because tsuki has hinata beat in both basic skill and consistency since the beginning.
@esosaobayuwana59944 жыл бұрын
Ok ok in season 1 at least tho tsukishima could've done better. He was always just kinda half heartedly doing stuff, then when yamaguchi screamed at him he did a number of things to raise his base skill level such as learn with kuroo and Bokuto as well as play with his brother (fraud ass nigga). Doing all that made him a better player so he was able, at his best, to block ushijima, he just hasn't been trying all that much cause if he can block ushijima he can block everyone else a bunch more times
@itslexonly34674 жыл бұрын
I thought I could endure it, but Rob has been getting on my nerves more each episode. I just wanted to repeat what everyone has probably been saying ever since the first episode. Volleyball is a TEAM sport. With Hinata’s speed and high jumps, it was possible to outrun some of the blockers and avoid getting blocked leading to a point. Without kageyama, maybe they will never have been able to discover the quick attack. Without Daichi or Nishinoya, Karasuno probably would have lost much more points in the past. The anime has always been emphasizing it, and it’s that volleyball is all about CONNECTING. There’s no such thing as “Kageyama did that” or “It was all kageyama”. NO it’s not because who saved the ball, who passed it, and who was able to spike it pass the blockers? Everyone on the court is essential (NO ONE is less or more important than the other ) and each person plays a part in the scored point. Thank you :) that’s all for my rant and now I can take a breather again
@itslexonly34674 жыл бұрын
Sorry if I sounded ignorant, but I just wanted to let it out because unlike basketball, soccer, or any other sports where you could just hog the ball and score on your own, in volleyball you can’t. I really hope this comment is seen and really help open Rob’s eyes that it’s not all just kageyama

Tsuki is not an offensive player. The manga creator though stated that Tsuki around this time was the 3rd best player on the team (1. Kageyama 2. Noya. 3 Tsuki) Tsuki is basically the entire blocking defense himself and has been prob the most consistent player on the team. He just never got the spotlight because his job is something that doesn’t get the most recognition

Pat is 100% right. Come on guys. Ukai literally says Tsukishima was fine playing at 75% amd never went 100%. Tsuki himself literally says he sees no point in going all out and going 100 for "merely a club". The whole point of this episode is that for the first time, he is losing himself in the game. His scream is followed by the screams of suprise from his teammates, because they have never seen Tsukishima commit/care that hard. Another point is when Kageyama starts setting the ball a lot higher to Tsukishima in season 4. Kagee goes, Nahh im not compensating for your comfort sake anymore, come up here to your limit and get this ball

I was SO looking forward to this episode. Tsukki's moment made me cry the first time, still gives me chills to this day. But hecking Rob comes into each reaction not to watch the show but to make it about himself. He somehow ruined one of the best, most emotional moments in Haikyuu for the other guys. Didn't think it was possible, Rob, but everyday your selfishness and negativity always reaches new lows. 👏👏👏
@ezri56314 жыл бұрын
They did mentioned in the show that it was tsuki's role to keep things under control while hinata rotates to the back line. Thats his job to block and strengthen the defence. Comparing him to wing spikers who score points ain't a fair comparison because that's not his job. And scoring points from blocking isn't as easy as a spike set up for you to smash it down. Its special for hinata because he's in that position not for his blocks but to enhance the attack of the wing that's why he's the 'best decoy'. That's why tsuki plays doesnt seem as fancy or obvious to notice other than a split second.

If you were as skilled but not caring for the game you're playing and scoring 20/20 then you actually start to enjoy the game and your skill doesn't change dramatically and you still score 20/20 you're still balling. Wellz enjoyed how Tsuki started to get serious and actually enjoy the game hence the comparison with Sakura.
@esosaobayuwana59944 жыл бұрын
His skill did change a lot tho, he was taught proper read blocking by kuroo(a skill he didn't have before) and learned how to time his blocks properly from ukai (another skill he didn't have before) he also learned how to block stronger people when he was playing with his brother's team which while it isn't a skill, helped him be ready for ushijima. On top of that he was scoring 3-4 points at most per set and wasnt really getting focus in season 1, if someone asked me at the beggining of season 2 "who's been ballin?" I would have said at least 5 names before tsukishima, but after yamaguchi pressured him he really started glowing. In the Shiratorizawa game he scored far more points and got more blocks

@ryandonnelly18874 жыл бұрын
Tsukis impact on the team is the same as kageyama. Both aren't in the spotlight by scoring points but they make it significantly easier for their teammates to perform well. Tsuki has always prioritized getting one touches an making opponents swing towards the floor defenders. Honestly he hasn't really been performing better than other games either, their just highlighting all of his contributions because it's his episode.

RIGHT ! honestly if it wasnt for his strategy of making wakatoshi hit directly at noya,, ushijima wouldve been continuously scoring and they would've lost the first set! and the pressure he puts on the other team by always touching the ball and solidly blocking it,, paved the way for karasuno to make offensive and successful plays. duh
@kingofthale5034 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say who's ballin when each players role provide different benefits for the team. Tanaka, hinata and asahi are pretty much offensive players so you can say they are ballin. Kageyama being the setter pretty much a point guard getting them assists he ballin. Noya, daiichi getting digs, saves constantly they ballin in that perspective. Tsukki getting one touches to shutdown blocks as well as scoring a few here and there he ballin too. Was he playing at this level before? probably not but this is a championship game and certain players rise to the occasion. You can say this series tsukki been ballin lol

Since the start, tsukki has literally been a key role for net defence and does his part when it comes to offence too. The only thing off about him throughout the seasons til now was that he didnt have the heart, he was just playing cos it was a sport. Thats what was highlighted in this episode, he finally got drawn in to LOVE it. His skills in defence were always there but alot of focus was just on his pissy attitude so thats what ended up overshadowing his plays but tsukki has been balling since the start.
