I think they made the arrangement just for her. Like, she's already got the credentials of a veteran gamer, but they just have to see if she can make the grade in other areas. Vspo is kinda serious about gaming (it's in the name after all).

I wonder if the VSPO trainee/research student thing may have been implemented at this time to help with their english branch that's coming soon. Make sense to trail run it early with JP, use it for the future there, and then have a bit of an idea for using it with EN too.

I don't think it really is for EN. at least for now, the trainee thing as pieces and bits that talents have said, include test streams, playing with vspo members to gauge how they can fare in conversations while playing (And level of play ofc) None of the talents can do actual english so If there was a program for EN in that they have got nobody to help with the screening. People forget that VSPO is the 3rd biggest Vtuber agency in Japan by a long shot, Since VSPO is closest to a normal "streamer" (What with all the collabs and playing with pretty much any and all JP Twitch streamers) The entire program was made to better filter and prepare future JP talents. Like before debut Tsumugi had a lot of contact with management and Vspo members, probably even had some before they even decided on "Tsumugi"

Their official account has asked for input about EN a few times on reddit for culture and ideas and such, so I'm reasoning more that the idea to initiate the program *now* for this would also align with EN coming soon. Clearly since the official account was speaking fluent english that was clearly not machine translated, they have bilingual staff currently employed. What I'm theorizing is that the staff can be involved in bridging the knowledge gained in this JP trainee program to implement a similar version for the upcoming EN branch as well. I never was implying that the existing talents would have any connection with EN candidates whatsoever
