TSW4 How To Drive The Metrolink Rotem Cab Car

Metrolink run a push-pull operation with a Hyundai Rotem Cab Car at the far end of the train. These usually lead from Lancaster heading back into LA on the Antelope Valley Line. Join me on a quick cruise as we come to grips with driving this silent warrior.

For some reason the TMS/Train Management System in the Metrolink cab car doesn't sound the alarm. Is there anything I did wrong?

I hit the MU Button which powered down the whole train, now I can't get it re-started no matter what I do :D and tips?

@@christopherweir9419 I'll bet you never press that button again eh? You could try escaping to the pause menu and selecting "I'm stuck reset physics" if that doesn't work the only thing I can think of is go to the locomotive at the other end and see if it's running. If it's not you can try starting it (find a switch marked something like run/stop/start turn it to the start position, make sure the three switches fuel pump, gen field and engine run are turned on then press the start button)

@@trainsimulatordriver Yes lol! Hey, you gotta press every button to see what they do right?? Yes, the solution was to go to the loco at the end of the train and restart the engine from there. The reset the Physics didn't work, but at least I now know what to do 👍

@@christopherweir9419 yes every button must be pressed, I press a random button on stream sometimes, last time I did I ended up coasting 13km in neutral while I figured it out

Question 1: When I spawn a Metrolink train I can’t open the door why can i do it? Question 2: How do i enable marker lights on a metrolink cab car?

You'll need to setup the train before you can open the doors. Master switch and reverser to forward. There's switches to the left of the driver seat for the lights.

I, too, have the same issue. When I do free roam, and I spawn this train, nothing electrical works. The lights and doors do not function. When the train is fully operational, you see certain lights lit up in the cabin, but spawning the train, they are all off and I cannot figure out how to fix this. Is there a circuit box in the train that can help me fix this issue? The train still moves, but again, nothing electrical works

@@JohnnyRichDz ok that's a bit of a clue, it sounds like the cab car isn't set up when you spawn. I'll try it today and come back to you.

Im having trouble getting the headlights on, how did you set up your cabcar?

I just dropped into service AV 208 and the cab car headlights are already on without me doing anything. There is a switch to the left of the driver labeled "HEAD & AUX LIGHTS" which is on. If your lights are not on turn it all the way clockwise.

In my opinion the rotem cab cars horn sounds nothing like the real train

Fair enough to have an opinion but these are recordings of the actual train

@trainsimulatordriver ik, which is kinda weird how it was recorded from the actual train, I get the horn they were tryna go for, but the resemblance is not the same. I compared them but sounds almost nothing.

@@LC25av are you comparing it to real life or someone else's video? Have you tried listening from outside the train when you blow the horn or only from within the cab?

@trainsimulatordriver yeah I'm comparing it to real life and got audio from outside and inside the cab, but idk if Dovetail made a small mistake or something with the audio but yeah the audio is way off
