My usual go-to is AD&D 1e, but the system is intriguing and your rules vids were useful for getting the gist. Just looking for something off the D&D reserve I can try. Few questions: I hear the PF books are standalone. This is not standalone? I was going to just get the 3rd party "Gold & Glory" and possibly use the "Advanced Dungeons and Savages" fan supplement over at Dragonsfoot to let our group give it a try. Too far a stretch? Any recommendations to find the right mix to use some of Gygax's old 1e modules converted to test the system out? Anyone managed this transition successfully? Please note, I'm more partial to the older style of D&D: I'm pre 2e and older. I might have a mutiny doing this, but I'm willing to give it a try as the system looks fun to play.

Hey! I really love the deep dives, the long form videos are really good for helping me get into the system and figuring out how to prioritize mechanics and find ways to apply flavor and trappings! I just started playing a high fantasy SWADE campaign about 2 months ago and I'm having a blast! I am really looking forward to a deep dive on the Arcane Backgrounds presented in this book, I hope you all have the time to do one!! In particular, my first character i'm playing has the Shaman background, and I was wondering how valuable you two think the Sacred Fetish edge is?

For Blunderer I think you made a mistake. It says if you fail your roll and your skill die was a 1. If you passed with your wild die then you didn't fail your roll so even if you have a 1 on hte skill die it won't trigger. It's if you rolled a 1 on your skill die and a 2 or 3 on your wild die that it is a CF. It also makes fighting risky to take it with becuae you often need a much higher roll not to fail (Same with tests). Great video though.

Humans can go several ways. Of course with keeping Adaptable and their theme of the most diverse , the easy way is to give a 'skilled' feature; something like 2 extra skill points or they start with a d6 in a non core skill of their choice (raising the max to d12+1). The other route is to make a list of cultural/regional features they can choose from matching the setting (still keeping adaptable), like a d6 (d12+1 max) in riding (for horse-lords) or cold resistance/survival d4 for arctic themed tribes.

Oh quick preview, Protection has already been nerfed from normal Swade (the newest Swade version has this change as well). So your wishes has been granted! Unless you are saying they nerfed it too hard, which I would agree with....

@@ericsplosions yup .. I will home rule in a more Armor (1pp) give 4 armor (4 Toughness on a raise). What do you think?

​@@VICT0RLAZL0 Exactly what I was thinking! An Epic Mod option would have been nice as well, maybe something like 2 or 3 pp for 6 armor/toughness and/or something like Density(2pp): Hardy (race/creature ability).
