Every now and again, I watch your videos again for the 5th time. Ha ha. Always enjoy flying with you (video). I have another year to retire and after that I am going to be up in your area with my trike.

@polakayne P - Where I fly , I have to kiss my engine regularly now after every flight. I keep flowers for it in the hanger and take it out for dinner a few times a week. Mountain flying in the backcountry of Idaho is an all or nothing prospect. Yep - I have a current BRS at the ready. Also carry survival gear and a SPOT beacon.

That's a pretty high end trike you have. Wonderful cruise speed.

Hey, you know my soul excites with you fly along up the air there. It makes my body left behind here for loneliness. Oh, flying like you do, it’s my true dream, let me enjoy you fly up the air there, too. It’s excitingly.

I absolutely love your videos. I bought a sony big screen tv about a year ago. It has wireless internet. I sit down and watch your vids all the time. I would love to take a ride someday. I would pay the price of admission for sure. If anything meet you in person and see your trike and thank you for the entertainment!!!

Down right beautiful. That terrain doesn't provide very many engine out landing fields. I wouldn't trust my little Kawasaki in that environment. Great flying. Keep the videos coming. They are great. Load a lot of videos during winter, when my flying time is nil.

It sure is! I haven't done a full stop there yet unless I find a reason. At 3800 feet, density altitude becomes a noticeable factor

Loved the video AND Music, wished you could edit the prop sounds into the background along with the music. Otherwise.....SPECTACULAR !!!!! Keep Flying and BE SAFE.

@ 2:45 is that Stocking Meadows (CPTPA Boehls?) If so, I helped build that strip in the early 80's!? Been a while since I was there.

Strong maintenance has taken me to places only few can imagine. Helps to have a BRS to boost confidence in the beginning but now - after 700 hrs Flt time in that trike - I’ll go anywhere. Also have other Rotax aircraft running very reliably. See my other vids.

What's the range on your trike from takeoff to landing? Someday I'd be interested in doing this am I'm already wondering how far I can get per takeoff/landing. A coast-to-coast trip would be awesome!
@ttabs
@ttabs 9 жыл бұрын
+Dreaklock Range depends on the manufacture. The DTA in this video held 18 gal and my present Tanarg holds 17. Both are Rotax 912 (which I'd strongly recommend for a cross country as you are thinking). Some trikes however hold as few as 11 gal. I figure 4.5 gal/hr at 75 mph for range.
@Dreaklock
@Dreaklock 9 жыл бұрын
+ttabbs Would you be able to increase range by going slower? Say 50mph (or by keeping it right above the stall speed)? I've been researching engines and like you said, the Rotax 912 looks to be a good one (is that a fuel injected 4 stroke? I heard those are best). In terms of the trike itself, I really like the look of HenryTrikeLife's trike. It looks like it has a lot of space for a passenger and that's one of my big three wants (Comfort w/ passenger, Range, and Speed). EDIT: I just saw your new Trike (the Tanarg)... that thing is AMAZING!
@ttabs
@ttabs 9 жыл бұрын
+Dreaklock Well each trike with each wing will have it's own 'sweet spot' in terms of maximum efficiency/economy. Stall for these aircraft BTW is around 40 mph. In my case, my trike will outfly my bladder so range for me is not a huge consideration. I can cover a lot of ground on one bag of gas. Get something with a 912 in it and you'll be a happy camper. All the 912 trikes I've seen have adequate passenger seating and range.

I love to view your videos. The HD cams really show the courntry side. I also like the music in this video. Who is the artist and what is the title? Thanks for sharing your flights for those of us who do not have the opportunity to do what you do!

ttabbs Hi, I dont get your point? I saw the airstrip on google? did you mean that indeed it is called a cute little"airport" after all? :)
@ttabs
@ttabs 9 жыл бұрын
leviterande Sorry - I meant if you go on Google Earth, you can do a search on there and it will take your right to the Stocking Meadows airport. Most of this vid was recorded just south and east of there. I took off out of Elk River Id (do another search on G.E. for that and it will take you there as well). Here's another vid flying the Bitterroots .... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKu0Z4WvdttkgsU

Right on... Thanks for the quick response! Now if you don't mind, may I ask why you changed to the AirCreation? I'm thinking others would be interested, too. Thanks again! Excellent videos with music that doesn't make my head throb🙉
@ttabs
@ttabs 9 жыл бұрын
+DustyCowdog - Sure thing - I switched to the Tanarg because one came up for sale with a 100 HP Rotax in it. My DTA had an 80 HP. Since you see the type of terrain I fly in, I figure more power is LIFE! lol. The Tanarg is more comfortable for passengers too.

Just curious, what brand of trike is that? No obstructed view in front! Great video....
@ttabs
@ttabs 9 жыл бұрын
+DustyCowdog That trike is a French built DTA Combo FC. It's claim to fame is no front tube. So the Mast is designed to handle the shear. It does give great exposure but I've since been flying an Aircreation Tanarg and thought the front tube was going to be a big deal - but it's not.
@trickcyclists
@trickcyclists 7 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah... just realised that... no front tube !! ..It seems it ought to make it, I don't know, 'less safe' kind of.. I guess, but I know it can't be, lol. Thank you for yet another really lovely video. Everyone on this page envies you.. keep them coming!

What a dirty runway it is! Idaho must be very poor.
@ttabs
@ttabs 6 жыл бұрын
I'm falling out of my chair laughing! I can see your point if I didn't know better. Stocking Meadows is a backcountry airstrip that is used only for emergency firefighting efforts. It's basically all wilderness around it! There are lots of backcountry airstrip videos you can take a look at to see just how remote Idaho really is. The nearest paved road to Stocking Meadows airstrip is probably 80 km away. We'll be flying Hell's Canyon for our Fly-in in July '19.

@@ttabs Thank you for the response. I got to know that Idaho was poor but not so poor. I got to know that you had a chair, too(^^). Thank you.
