I used the Gargoyle until very late in the game and could have easily used it for all of it. I did an 11 small laser build with 854.4 armor. My tankiest mech until the Direwolf. The range is bad but the heat management is decent (70 capacity and 4 cooling) and it's fast for an Assault mech (81kph). Build: Right arm C pod. Left arm A pod. The rest Prime. Fill all the laser hardpoints with small lasers, add 4 double heatsinks, and 11 tons of ferro armor, and I went with an active probe as well, though you could opt for even more armor instead and have 892.8. That said, this AC20 build looks fun. I will definitely have to try it out.

UAC-2 and UAC-5 do it better... Try dual UAC-2 Gargoyle to please your power fantasy of mech sized machineguns or mech sized heavy gunner.

Regarding the projectile speed - what a great opportunity to differentiate the different models/ammo types. High RoF smaller caliber could be faster, while big caliber solid slug travels slower. That would result in a nice advantage/drawback profile. But I won't hold my breath over PGI doing some smart and proper game mechanics design..

Thanks for the build! I’ve noticed your allies are using burst UACs instead of solid slug ones, does AI work better with burst UACs or what is the reason behind this? Thanks! Ps. You could also look into showing some AI/support builds for this game, there are probably a lot of players that would enjoy that as well!

@ I’ve seen them! I meant it more like „builds that work well specifically on AI controlled mechs“, like what weapon groupings to use and which weapons they use best/struggle with the most. That’s why I asked about wether UAC burst or solid slug are better for them, I can’t really tell a difference myself, but you seem like an expert so I wanted to ask

Yes, butt so do heavys so most people just run the timberwolf and a hellbringer til the warhawk / direwolf

@cyanidecologne9018 that's what it looks like so far. I haven't noticed collision damage with light and medium but they get reflected and deadstoped often. I've tested fall damage with them and it takes a big drop and speed seems to matter but I think it might max out at 2pts for diving off a canyon fast A/F in a viper. I wonder if that tracks for heavier mechs? Lighter mechs don't seem any easier to rock in this game, I find that problematic. I haven't checked melee disparity either but the opportunities don't come up much in this game either.... I could casually trail most things with a javelin and box them for lolz in mercs, the enemy mobs get dangerous in clans but worse is the wild frenzy of the whole squad jumping on each target. I don't know if it's melee collision or stray shots but I get messed up trying melee when I appear to have got in and out clean.

I didn't skipped this mech the First playtrough, but I will for every future one😂 No matter what build you can make out of the Gargoyle, it remains just an realy "ugly Motherf*****"😂

In the mission gameplay I kept anxiously eyeing the ammuniation counter. You stuffed so much shells into this build, yet it isn't enough, is it? I'd probably go for half or a full ton or armor less and put the ton into ammo.

No slots for armor on center mass made this mech unusable for me. It’s made worst that ai are more accurate against assault mechs, so you can’t even rely on evasion.

The projectile impacts are so weak compared to mercs! Hopefully someone fixes that with mods 🙏
