You'd think they would equip these buses with all wheel drive considering the climate they're in.
@sovb3 жыл бұрын
It'd kinda be overkill in the summer months, I think. Normally they work just fine, the weight mostly compensates for it. They rarely ever get fully stuck.
@hacks486 Жыл бұрын
@@sovb you could do this for some busses especially the routes with steep hill climbs like Caledonia road/Dufferin and most north routes.

1 year after: We had to go through the same thing on route 32 when going up the BIA hill. Luckily, the 2006 Orion VII OG HEV had a very great Cummins ISL engine, very fit for the snow kind of.

The 1000 OG HEVs use a ISB engine, the 7900 and 8000 OGs use an ISL engine

In Japan and Korea, winter tyres are a legal requirement on all vehicles, this kind of stuff never happens, buses run on time, and people get to their work. This is utterly shocking and totally avoidable.
@kallek771 Жыл бұрын
Everytime see this kind of videos from NA keeps me thinking how things would be more easy if 1. You would have proper winter tires 2. Little bit more driving skills. When tyre spins at winter, last thing to do is give more throttle

Canada needs an active program to train open semi-autonomous vehicles. These snow opportunities for AI to learn how to compensate for lack of traction doesn't happen often and certainly not in Arizona or California where current autonomous vehicle development are happening. If such AI training isn't actively done in Canada, Canadians would be the last to benefit and if it's not open development, there would be few opportunities for independent small Canadian startup corporations as the major auto manufacturer take up control of development.

Once I've been on a bus that got stuck at an intersection, so the driver ordered: "All passengers to the very back!" When the order was obeyed, the weight increased so much that the bus was able to break free and continue its journey.
