Part of a 220 bus order, TTC 1217 is a November 2008 built Orion VII NG HEV. Because these buses were delivered considerably behind schedule, four additional buses were added by Orion. Rebuilt in December 2016, 1217 continued in service in its original paint until it received the LFLRV livery in March 2020. 1217 spent the majority of its life at Arrow Road Division, but moved to Malvern Division in May 2023, where it has served since. 1217 is powered by a Cummins ISB engine and BAE Systems Hybridrive. Enjoy the ride on route 95 York Mills from York Mills Station to Ellesmere Avenue at Kennedy Road. If you asked anyone in 2008 or 2009 when these buses entered service, no one would have said that these buses would still be in service over 16 years later, a testament to the TTC's robust maintenance, rebuilding and reconditioning programs. Despite their age, they are more reliable today than they were when delivered. Recorded in December 2024 in 4K on a Sony A7riv and a GoPro Hero 9 Black.
