Lovely composition. The citizens of Toronto are so lucky to have this tram network combined with such a frequency of service. Good job a plan to abandon trams was quashed.

We have never called them "trams". These are full-fledged streetcars that run across our city on eleven (11) streetcar routes that run 24 hours-a-day. There are U.S. cities such as Cincinnati and Tampa that have a single streetcar line that could be called a "tram" because it travels back and forth along a track that is no more than four kilometres long. The TTC streetcar network here in Toronto is like the streetcar networks that operated in U.S. cities 60+ years ago.

They were called trams in Montreal, which had at one time over 500 km of track. Melbourne has the largest system and they call them trams.
