Do you think this guitar would hold any altered tunings well enough for slide? I'm looking for a little "busker" to take with me to school. Mainly looking at open D,G and C tunings.

With the right gauge strings to hold enough tension, altered tunings would work on this guitar for sure.

Light gauge strings would generally work with all those tunings, though tuning the sixth string down to C might make it a bit floppy.

You can always upgrade the tuners too

If it's NoT in tune standard pitch ; there is no reason to assume it will stay in tune altered pitch ⁉️❗🤔🤨😳🙄😣😖😖

So this guitar used to be made with rosewood on the fretboard? Website states it is nandu and on the saddle too?

Yes this level ibanez would use all the unheard of tone woods : rosewood would probably NoT be an option of use on these low level models ⁉️❗🤔🤨😳🙄😑

Guitar center says the country of origin is the United States, but I have a hard time believing that given the price.

Possibly China. I have one of the Ibanez artwood series guitars. It was affordable like this one and the label says made in China. It does sound great though!
