My 22 grom has intake, yoshi loop exhaust and dhm tuned ecu and it rides great!! Not so wimpy anymore thank goodness

I have the dhm 186 kit with all the extra goodies, but I haven’t installed it yet. I’ve been reading a lot of mixed reviews. Some say they all blow at some point others love them to death. You have any input or herd any horror stories?

sure does look like it has a lot more giddy up and go. You should have the 2nd version of that dhm s1 cam, curious to see how that compares to the tb cam and some o the others. They made a few tweaks that should make for a much better all around grind. maybe winter will find my monkey growin to a 149 lol

Have you had any rattling or clearance issues? with this, I have a rattle I cannot track down, the piston was hitting the oil squirter and marking it, this was with both base gaskets installed. Timing is bang on, valves are bang on yet, it's still rattling... Sounds like cam chain but have swapped the timing chain tensioner and checked at the cam wheel... Its running a CJR ECU, 5 row oil cooler, kitaco oil pump same as yours, Chimera intake, etc etc etc.... Just wanted to know if you've had any odd rattling... Be great to know.

I'm not a Grom owner (yet), but I am a seasoned bike tech. The farther you get away from OEM Stock... especially when it comes to HEAT... the more you can expect problems. This is true for most internal-combustion motors, large or small. Any mods should be WELL researched, not just what some Squid told you was "HOT!" on Instagram. The Honda engineers spent loads of time on this motor... what makes YOU think you're more clever? Do your Modding homework very, very carefully.

Could be detonation / knock. That gives a rattle sound in the top end of the engine that fluctuates with throttle position. Not proper tune, low octane fuel, to lean just to name a few. You comment is 8 months old tho so I’m sure u figured it out by now

How many miles on this build, so far? I'm hearing from Grom techs that numerous owners are experiencing mechanical issues (seizing, etc.) from some of these mods. The Honda engineers did more homework than any of us ever did. Taking it Closer To the Edge is.. a risky business, despite what some guy on Facebook told you.

I have the 149bbk all supporting mods to go with. Installed the kit by the book. I have an aracer with af2 running 93 octane and have detonation mid rpm all the way up also oil temps rising. Almost like it has to much compression. This kit isn’t a straight forward bolt on and go by any means. I’m about to go back to stock bore to enjoy my Grom that or go with takegawa kit

@@atixs7172 I was going to go with Takegawa because it seemed like nobody was having issues with that kit. Anyway, to my story, lol I was running the first gen kit which was common for knocking off the oil squirter. I ended up having to tearing town the top end and while inspecting and found that the piston knocked the oil squirter off which ended up being a common thing. So thinking this is the reason for excessive heat building up creating higher crankcase pressures and cause for detonation. I brought up the concerns and issues I was running into I ended up going with another 149cc kit because of the exceptional customer service. I can say they do standby other word in their products. He took care of me fully and stood by his product went as far as him blueprinting the engine, making sure the clearances were proper replace the oil squirter and installed the kit on my engine. Everything has been great ever since. No detonation, temperature staying in range. No excessive crank case pressure. He had since came out with a GEN 2 version of the kit that rectifies a lot of the problems that came up with the first kit. As of the rollout of the updated kit, you don’t hear of any of these issues anymore. We have been having nice weather and been putting on the miles with no issues. In the end it was an issue that was fixed. Just with the provided customer service. I would gladly do but business with them again and I since I have.

I heard you say in your video that you are using the MNNTHBX intake and that you didn’t want to have to run the Chimera intake again with your oil cooler. Why do you like MNNTHBX intake better than the Chimera?
