My heart goes out to Rachel my dad fought cancer for 5years before he passed it is hard but remember the good times and you will get stronger,as for the Australian trip I understand the revenue it probably brought in sounds like a lot of people within the club didn't agree and feel for the fans who went and seen some kids who will be released get stuffed and it didn't look good for us

Your loyalties should be to the fans first, they are the most important. To put it in perspective to travel to Melbourne even from the next two nearest most populated cities is the equivalent of getting from Newcastle to Berlin and Warsaw respectively. Melbourne is an 18 hours drive from Brisbane. Imagine you paying to do that and watching the juniors instead. Howe picks the team and supporters everywhere deserve to know up front.

This mornings game was an eye opener; it shows how poor the standard was and helps understand why Howe didn’t use any of them. PIF need to pull their finger out and get to work.

Eddie is a smart dude, nothing he does is by accident, part of me thinks he totally did this on purpose to make sure we never have to play a post season friendly game ever again. After today we'll think twice about doing this again, if it goes well, we're back here again in 12 months time. Great show guys 👍

It really was not a representation of Newcastle United. I am just saying there should have been a bit more clarity. If the Rolling Stones were billed , advertised etc.. and a teenage tribute band showed up I think the organisers and punters would not be happy. Ok a silly comparison to illustrate the point. I just think the kids would have benefitted more if there were a few seniors in there. Likes of Dummet, Ritchie.

So our best kids are in Hong Kong for the soccer sevens which kicks off this weekend and a lot of our seniors are unavailable due to international call ups (or a wedding), but we agreed to the second game anyway, knowing fine well we'd be playing a youth team second string, at least one of which is on the released list. What a truly ridiculous decision for a "build our brand" exercise, from every conceivable angle, imho. It's a disgrace that the kids were set up for a hammering. I feel particularly sorry for Kuol, who has had his confidence battered by two terrible loan spells. I'm sure he could've done without this absolute humiliation on his home soil, because that's what it was.

As it's just been announced that Xavi has been sucked, how would you feel about approaching him to replace Ashworth? I've long admired the culture of La Masia and he could be the man to revolutionise our academy and bring some of that quality and professionalism. He has worked w/ high profile investors in Qatar before and I can't even begin to fathom his world wide connections. What do you think?

Last night was a PR disaster for the club felt for the Toon fans who had travelled and paid good money.

Before this morning I thought Spurs had messed up by travelling so far and only playing one game. Having seen us squeeze in two games and having to protect the seniors then I now realise it's NUFC that messed up. Getting battered 8-0 means Howe and the marketing team are not on the same page. Just humiliation

I think it was totally wrong for Eddie to start all youngsters in that game. It was clear they were being embarrassed, so why didn't he have more experienced heads on the bench to bring on and help them, unbelievable. Looking beyond the horror result down under, it's clear certain things off the pitch within the club need to change. Charging twenty quid to watch a game of very little significance is appalling.

It was the right move. I don’t want to watch the first teamers potentially get injured in a non important show piece. The fans got the Spurs match and can’t expect the same players to go out again 48 hrs later. Say If Isak or Big Joe played and did an ACL or torn hamstring the fans would have been blaming Eddie again.
