You better, I can and I'm 69 AND use the better (in my opinion) REVERSE penhold grip where you use both sides of the blade. If you are a 40/50 something you need to bone up NOW on a solid diet, an exercise regimen and club practise/play.

I'm 69, look 15 years younger than this player, have the same court speed and oomph, and play with the superior penhold version the 'reverse penhold' grip where you use BOTH sides of the raquet 'ala Wang Hao & the current teenage French sensation Felix Lebrun for superior backhands. Robert at 69.

At the club level here even 95% of the Asian players use the Western 'shake hands' grip​, so when I even play them I get stange looks. After 25 years I discovered this great grip, but your mentallity has to be the Asian thinking, sport dedication, diet, chopsticks (holding) not over weight, and fast foot work. @@ivanlobos7045

I'm curious to buy and try the Truls Moregard octagonal or 6 sided flat blade edge which is 20% percent bigger with a larger sweet spot as it is TT legal. It comes in a 'straight' as opposed to a flared handle if so inclined (me) Possibly the best of all worlds RVP players. @@ivanlobos7045

Winston played very well all the way accept , Tu was consistently hitting flat, and i think it was short pimps due to which the Winston could not block at 08/10. well played

Is he using long pips? If so, what kind? Seems like Winston had trouble reading the spin on blocks.

Looks + sounds like he's using short pips on the forehand (red rubber) and he probably has long pips OX on the black side. I would think he's probably using a Clipper, or Clipper clone of some sort as well. He's probably using Friendship 802-40 (the normal version, not the mystery version) with a 1.7mm sponge on the forehand (the red side). If not, then I would guess that he has TSP Spinpips of some sort on the forehand

He's playing with the 'traditional' penhold style where you use only 1 side of the raquet. At 69 l use the 'reverse penhold' where ypu use BOTH sides of the rubbers, 'ala Wang Hao and the current French teenage sensation Felix Lebrun. Robert at 69. Unless you are a recreation of Ma Lin, you are going to be limited on the backhand side. Robert at 69.
