The video really helped a lot I have solo and ensemble in two weeks. I actually do have a question. Do you know what I could do to help hold measure 14 -16 and 19-20. I Keep breathing in the wrong spots.

Are you taking a good breath on beat 3 of measures 12 & beat 1 of measure 17? Where do you normally start feeling like you are losing air?

@@mariahc.crawley884, I have thought about this question a lot. Sorry about the late response. I just got finished working on a musical at our local high school! Each aria in the book "24 Italian Songs and Arias" has it's own challanges. There are some songs that I would never recommend for anyone until their sophmore year or later in college. "Per la gloria" is deceptively difficult. "Vittoria, mio core" needs a massive amount of breath support to maintain the richness of tone and articulate the runs/melismas. "O del mio dolce ardor" requires so much energy that I have rarely heard anyone in high school or early college training sing it well. "Che fiero costume" has such rapid fire wording that it takes a huge amount of control and practice. "Il mio bel foco" also requires a ton of energy and control and has a tendency to wear out singers very quickly to the point that the ending is rarely as vibrant as it should be.

"Se tu m'ami" is my favorite. However, I rarely hear this one done well. It requires an amount of acting while maintaining a rich and seductive tone. This is one that I never recommend for high school or early college students!

"Le Violette" gives everyone problems with it's higher placement, leaps, and the alternate melisma. So, it's hard to say which might be the most technically challenging! 😄
