I think Giang is as despicable as the former secretary. She just has a more conning and sly ways of going about it. However, did you recognised that in the conversation with her and her mother after Tu Tien left, she seem to have a slight regret of what she did earlier, after now finding out that Tu Tien is the person who saved her mother. She could regret not helping Jack or what she told Tu Tien. Giangs plans have already failed.

Jack already told her, not to force herself on anyone for love, not even himself. When Tu Tien help her mother, she thought it was the right thing to do even though she should have been on time at Jack award ceremony. Tu Tien helped Mr. Toan, and she wanted nothing in return. So now Tu Tien needs his help and he will deliver.
