ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa:
“He has missed some OTA* time, I've confirmed, and really it could depend on how negotiations go with his contract as to whether he starts to show up or is there full time. They have had contract talks, preliminary talks. I'm told that the Dolphins have made at least one contract offer but we know how these things go; The offer apparently hasn't been good enough or he'd probably be there full time. So, the market is pretty set. We saw Jared Goff, $50-plus million a year, that's going to apply to Tua and Trevor Lawrence."
NFL rumors suggested that Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to get more than $50 MM AAV on his contract extension with Jacksonville. Tua Tagovailoa should expect to receive more money from the Dolphins.

The NFL helped cteate this situation of these massive salaries for star QBs and even second tier QBs getting s massive pay raises and teams having to cut talent elsewhere on the roster due to the salary cap over the years to get more fan excitement structuring the rules to greatly emphasize the passing game. I am not worried about what Tua is doing "C", I am done with the Tua hate i dont care anymore. The offense was specifically built around Tua and its not just about if he can play its how the team has learned to play with each other as well. Tua has only been improving since Mcdaniels has been coach. 1st year with Mcdaniel we seen a change and his do so much better than previous seasons but he had a concussion issue. He fixed that last year by proving he can play in all the games. And although he did not bring us to where we wanted he still improved. And if he is progressing the way he has been this should be a really good year for Tua given the fact that he hire a QB coach to work on improving a few things. Gotta give the man credit he is trying. But there will be a lot of pressure on him this year especially with tyreek only have 2 more years with the Dolphins everyone including the fans want that superbowl ring.

people are just too obsessed with size, athleticism, and arm strength. if you look at the numbers comparing tua and herbert, people would wonder why scoff at suggesting tua gets as much as him. same with lawrence, numbers are better, but i'd guess most people think lawrence deserves more. hell even goff, no one bats an eye. get him signed sooner than later cuz it's only getting more expensive.

We have to remember the truth is Tua has had arguably more weapons than any quarterback in the entire league, and he hasn’t look good down the stretch of any games or against any good teams, or made the playoffs or win a playoff game. We could get anybody to come in here and do that. San Francisco you can see has as good may be better weapons and the seventh round pick Brock Purdy took them to the Super Bowl.
