I don’t understand why Vanya is hated. It isn’t her fault that she was raised the wrong way. It wasn’t her fault that she was lied to her whole life. When she was young, she couldn’t play with the rest because of her power. It’s the dad you should blame, not Vanya. Anger is sometimes uncontrollable and you can’t blame her for that. Also, no one really cares or understood her except for Allison, who actually tried. She was like an outcast, and she just couldn’t hold it in anymore. She’s an actual softie and just wanted to be like the others

I know people keep talking about how she's so full of herself at the end and she shouldn't have reacted the way she did but I just don't get that it's like she's been a side character her entire life and never really felt loved and so when she thinks that Leonard really likes her she obviously wants to try and cling to that. The years upon years of awful treatment built up and she was confused and distraught and with powers she never learned to control and it all just exploded all at once

She's an actual amazing person that raised in the wrong way. No matter what the reason, telling someone they're not special since young would eventually took heavy damage on their psychology. The fact that no one was with her to supported her getting through it, while all her sense and emotion was dampened by drugs, she was actually forced to live a dull unhappy life.

I don’t care about what Vanya had done even being the cause of the apocalypse; her siblings all bear some responsibility for that, Luther especially for locking her up again like their father did and restarting her trauma which made her lose control and almost destroy the world, but Klaus also bears quite a bit of responsibility (he’s my favourite and still is despite this) because he threw their father’s journal in the dumpster and Leonard/Howard found it and read everything he’d written about them, especially Vanya and then manipulated her to unlock her powers, it was wrong of him but at least he wanted Vanya to learn the truth and find out she was unique and special like all of her siblings are. I do of course feel bad that she almost killed Allison, and that she killed Pogo, but that wouldn’t have happened if they had all owed her their love and let her be their sister and family like she’s always been to them. Pogo knew everything and with their father gone why didn’t he tell Vanya the truth and try to help her, he was certainly a much better father figure for them than their so-called father Reginald Hargreeves. They all owe her everything in season 2, what Five said at the end when they time travelled together about fixing Vanya, I hope they do that, but I’d prefer if that means helping her to control and learn to master powers and be loved like she deserves to be.

If the Incredibles are proof that the Fantastic Four can be done well on-screen, then I think The Umbrella Academy is proof that Dark Phoenix can be done well. Seriously, it's uncanny how many parallels there are (the psychological repression by a parental figure, the godlike power surge, the manipulative villain, and the team being divided over what to do with her, to name a few). But on top of that, this show also has the strengths of that storyline (Vanya's visual psychological torment, and how it naturally progresses, well-established characters and dynamics, and clear factors contributing to the plot, to name a few again). I can't say this with absolute certainty, since Fox's second attempt at the Dark Phoenix Saga has yet to be released. But if the trailers are any indication (Mystique's death didn't have nearly the same impact on me as Pogo), I'm expecting something entertaining but disappointing. (though I hope I'm wrong)

Spoilers Her father tried training her and found that emotional triggers made her powers instable, so he created a medication to supress her powers, and as a failsafe persuaded Allison in "rumor"ing Vanya to forget she had powers.

She is the one who belittled five, arguing with him until he seemingly accepted her diagnosis that he was unwell. She is the one who constantly emotionally manipulated her siblings. *She is the one who never apologizes and told Alison to get the f*ck out of her life.* If you'd like specifics I'd be more than happy to provide a breakdown of multiple scenes. I would also provide supporting info about why Vanya isn't a cinnamon roll, but is in fact a megalomaniac. *it would probably take a few days to write it all down, so I'm not guaranteeing immediate results.

She was excluded from everything even family pictures, constantly belittled, told she wasnt special, that she was a liability that she wasn't welcome in her own childhood home, she told Allison to leave because Allison fucking rumored her.
