no f tuba would be as tall as that giant thing. Sounds very nice, full for an f tuba especially.

Very true it's a pretty big Bb tuba, and i do agree that the Berg has a very full sound.

I've heard that there's a lot of problems with the fourth valve on these kinds of horns. Was that the case with the product you got? A friend of mine got an F tuba from Wessex (don't know which model) and he allowed me to play it, and the notes with the fourth valve did not slot at all, and the sound lacked depth.

Hey man, to answer your questions 1. there are some issues i've ran into using this horn for almost a a year now with the 4th valve. I managed to slot most on target with some needing some slight slide pulling and pushing. I have heard from others that is an issue with these horns. I think it's due to how small it is. 2. Yes that is the case that came with it. I don't use it that often anymore. I bought a medium sized Gard bag and it works great. 3. I've played other Wessex horns mostly their other F tubas and i did run into that issue, but i also think that i may be due to the fact that most of their F tubas are pretty small. The Berg next to a B&S F tuba looks a baritone tbh. But what do i know. it could just be some random thing that they're trying to fix. I hop these answers helped and are somewhat useful

I play on very old F Tuba that has 3 valves , whats the difference between those with 4 valves?, i want to order some New F Tuba....

@@viktormk8644 Hey Victor Now im no expert so my explanation may be a little weird. So, F tubas with four valves aren't really that different from three valve F tubas. The 4th valve replaces the 1 and 3 fingerings option. It also increases the range and also adds more options for tuning in extreme ranges. Tubas that have 5 valves to a similar thing, and what the 5th valve does is it lowers the notes a flat whole step. So it basically replaces the 1st valve and increases the range even further. All an extra valve like a 4 or 5th valve does is it increase the range and give more options for alternate fingerings and better tuning. If you want more info I would either go ask a local repairman or you could check out LowBrassU. He has a couple of videos on how that stuff works links below and labled. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3a2cmN9mbJ4gJI; LowBrassU's video for 5th valve explained kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHy7qWqApqd8qNE; LowBrassU's video for Key's of Tubas kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4WZnIyOjsSZZ68; LowBrassU's Video for 4th valve explanied

would you recommend it for orchestra stuff?
@ethanplaystuba Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. It is an awesome tuba for most things. I've used this in many orchestra settings over the past few years, and I have had some issues with it. In a large orchestra the sound can be very easily drowned out, but for a smaller orchestra it works wonders. I managed just fine but that may be different for you. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
