When I was a young boy my dad bought me a saxophone because I was interested in the music of Benny Goodman, I was interested in music but not interested enough in learning how to master it, He then bought me a motorcycle, a competition motorcycle which I rode with great success, culminating in the ultimate accolade of being a works supported rider. I was, due to a horrendous injury forced into early retirement, but he love of music is forever in my soul, from my early days listening to Elvis, Jerry Lee, Benny Goodman, Kathleen Ferrier, loving Beethoven, Mahler, through to Mississippi Fred McDowell, music has, for me been the great leveler, it is the only thing in this world that unites people, it is the unexplained medium which unites all peoples, it is, even to those familiar with its various cadences, an unexplained phenomena.

The girl with the trumpet is obviously the leader of this group. I've played in bands long enough to recognize the leadership cues of who's next up for a solo. Wherever she looks next is who's on deck. Good silent communication with this group. They've obviously been playing together a long time.

I just found this on you tube. My husband took me to New Orleans for my birthday February 2020 just before the shutdown and if I had seen this group playing I would have felt a lot better about the trip. Not a lot of authentic music there anymore! Catering now to a younger crowd that knows nothing about jazz and blues and it was just sad. But the town is still so unique and the food was amazing 🤩 when I listen to this I want to go back 😀
