Coming back to this I can't help but note, praise, Robin Rapuzzi's washboard work .. his phrasing is spot on with the music , on the beat or syncopated, and his use of the varied surfaces enhances the tonality of the tune. And his hands are like lightening. The spontaneous appreciation from this crowd is well deserved. It takes a lot to play a washboard surrounded by the quality of these musicians ... and they recognize his contribution. Even on numbers where he is focused with the rhythm section he is always 'adding something' . I know him a bit and he's a great fellow - has encouraged and coached my late-in-life plunge .....

The Jazz Jubilee by the Sea brought Tuba Skinny to the West Coast. The City of San Luis Obispo, Pismo and Arroyo Grande give us grants. In return, we provide the cities with free performances. Jim, Did you ever go to the Jubilee? We have been doing it for 43 years.

Linda Shorb ~~~ I was there during the Reagan Presidency at Rancho del Cielo. We made several trips along the PCH but for the most part we headed into the Sierras and The Sequoias. Tuba Skinny would have put me at the Jubilee, without question. Thanks for the reply, Linda.
