Duuuude, this is awesome seeing the MC-202 get the same treatment as Vecoven's MKS-70. I've been tempted to dig into my MC-500 mk-1 and do the same basic thing.

Years ago, I remember passing on an opportunity to buy a MC202 for $300. Of course, I had no way of knowing what vintage Roland synths would be worth by now. Anyway, this is an amazing upgrade that actually makes this synth look new as if it was released recently with many modern features, such as the waveform displays. Wouldn't all of these new features also require a new CPU as part of the upgrade, considering the fact the MC202 was released back in the 80's?

That is correct. We do in fact replace the CPU, button board and display. You can see the CPU-board at 0:33 I did in fact buy the 202 in the video for about $300 (about 10 years ago?), but it was in terrible shape and needed a lot of repair
