As a child, I sang along with Tubby every day -- which is probably one of the reasons (that and Bing Crosby) why I have a low voice. At 71, I still just love the song -- and Danny Kaye, of course!

This is why I play tuba- to this day! My parents got me this album as a child. I started playing tuba in 1969- and still play my old, beautiful Miraphone tuba today, with the Oroville community concert band. Such a joy! Thank You for posting this! As I certainly have lost the record long long ago.

one of the reasons i became a tuba player- love the mirafones and yamahas :-)when i was a kid though i was on the heavy side and people called me that- now i can laugh about it because i did become a tuba player- got to go places and do things and meet people i would never have met had i not played the tuba- funny- even as an adult people on the east side of the state still made fun of me- i was a musical joke to a lot of them-(go redwolves:-) but i kept trying to be the best i could be-

I bought this record for my children over 50 years ago, then for my grandchildren 25 years ago and I made this video for my great grandchildren from the book and Danny Kaye's record found on I-tunes.
