I think the downvotes are people looking for help with an amp hum or buzz and there's just some guy talking for minutes. If he started with the sound and said "Does your amp sound like this? Here's the fix..."

Great accurate safety advice upfront I commend you for that people think just because it's unplugged they're safe there's a lot of storage juice in there waiting to drain out on something or someone

I had a big buzz issue but only with my Epiphone SG and only on A string bends. It would rattle. I ended up just re-seating the tubes and the issue went away. Thanks for the tip. I just left the tube cage off. It was a pain to get it off the tube cage.

Great video! I needed some insight on whether it's possible to do the tube change myself on my own v22 and this is the only worthy video I found. Many thanks!

Thanks for showing how to do that. Was trying to figure out how to get the tubes out of my 5 watt Bugera. I guess all you have to do is wiggle and pull.

Nice vid! Today happened something rare with my V22. I finished waiting for the tubes to warm up, with the standby switch on. When I turned the standby off to start playing, a huge noise started to come out. Most weird is that the Master was in 0. Has that happened to any of you? Thank you.
@elmarce74104 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue today with mi Marshall DSL40C. Yesterday I heard a noise coming from somewhere inside the amp... it sounded like something metalic was loose. I started doing my research on the internet and found out that one of my power tubes was "microphonic" which means something inside it was broken and making a noise with vibrations. Today mi amp started making some "pops" and buzzes even with master and gain @ 0 and when I turned on the Standby it made a loud noise (like an 8-bit videogame) which is enough reason for me to take it to customer service for new power tubes... Hope you solved your problem already
@preciseaudioblog4 жыл бұрын
ElMarce When that happens, there is a problem in the circuit. In yours must be basically the power tube. My tech had to remake the circuit of the whole amp. Also, a fuse exploded. So I need new power tubes and new fusil, because the stock circuit affects the power tubes. Bad purchase...

I have a buzz coming from an amp I built, it hadnt been making this buzz since I built it (3 years ago) til a week ago. And it gets louder as I turn up the volume. I changed the tubes, I checked the PTP wiring and I cant find anything wrong. I accidentally hit the transformer and the buzz got worse. The kit i built has the Transformer exposed and there are 2 screws and 2 nuts holding the transformer together. Randomly I decided to tighten the screws by tighting the nuts. The buzz got less loud as I tightened the nuts, but ive got them as tight as they will go and the buzzing is def quieter but still there. Now my question is why would this happen ? Did the inside the transformer dry up or something ? Should I get a new transformer ? Im about 99% sure the issue is the transformer but i dunno ?

Haha, thanks :) Troubleshooting seems to be difficult for a lot of people, so I want to start putting more videos up that walk through the steps I take to find and then resolve issues. Even if it's just something simple like this.
@MrMongo3218 жыл бұрын
I meant to ask you is there anything I need to watch out for as far as using a guitar with (Schecter EMGs) active pickups vs passive pickups?
@shredbox84918 жыл бұрын
I haven't played with active pickups too much, but I have a rough idea of what I did and didn't like about them. I really enjoyed them for metal rhythm guitar because they have a consistent sound due to the high output. A lot of people enjoy them for lead due to the added sustain and even almost compressed tone without losing attack. This also makes active pickups sort of awful for genres like blues where you might want more dynamic range. You lose some of that crucial pick sensitivity. I don't think I would ever want to own only guitars with active pups, but I'd like to have one in my arsenal of axes at some point.
@MrMongo3218 жыл бұрын
ok, thnx Brandon. I know they have zero noise as opposed to single coil pu's but now that Fender has the noiseless pu it's not much of a problem anymore. I was thinking about buying a Schecter Diamond series guitar and they all come with active pu's.
@shredbox84918 жыл бұрын
Nice! Those Schecters are pretty cool.

No metal clasps to hold them tubes? Most amps I've seen had some sort of mechanical tube holder that keeps them from coming lose.

How have you removed the metal tube's protection? I have to replace one of my power tubes but I can't take out that protection.

Hey Shred, since I'm considering purchasing one of these amps, your video was very timely for me. The is probably the better place to ask you the question I posted on your compression pedal video. How would you compare this amp to the Fender Mustang II, which I also own? I had a hard time with it at first getting the exact tones I wanted (if you can ever do that) but now I'm quite happy with the amp. However, I constantly read how much better the tone is from tube amps. If I didn't live so far out in the country, I'd just go down to the closest Guitar Center (in my case, about 25 miles) and check out the tone for myself. So how would you compare the tone of the two amps?
@shredbox84918 жыл бұрын
It's pretty difficult to describe the nuances, but if you go watch the "Hurt" cover you can get a pretty good idea of what the clean tone is like. The "Wish You Were Here" cover I did is also relatively clean. See the links below: Hurt: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJnKlGyMftxraMU Wish You Were Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laG8iZ94gratnNE

I've had 2 Bugera V5....both make the same, hissing, nasty nails on a chalkboard sound. Even if nothing's plugged in and the volumes are all OFF. 1st I bought was used. From the beginning TERRIBLE 2nd I just bought 4months ago. Took about 2 months, same problem. THESE AMPS ATE AMAZING, FOR THE 2 MINUTES THEY WIRK. My advice??? This amp is 250, about 500 for the V22??? DO YOURSELF A HUUUGE FAVOR!!! Buy a used fender BLUES Jr....a Pro Jr or if you can a Hot Rod DeVille. They last 4 ever, cost a hundred -300$, but you get 100x the amp Buy a great amp!!! Then a squier. It's alllllll about the amp!!!
