*the preamp pedal was used incorrectly! The point of the design is to allow you guitar to hit and actual TUBE PLATE b4 going into your I/O and VST AMPS SIM, so to provide that extra analog tube UMF, needed to make the virtual amp complete.*

I thought the buffer really beefed up the sound, but I have never needed a buffer what with being a basement warrior. Id like to hear in that exact set up, the tube based buffer AB`d to a less expensive buffer, and mabye also to a TC spark boost to really hear what the difference is.
@MykEviiL3 жыл бұрын
These have be advertised as to be used in combination with AMP SIMS as per the commercial for them with Marty Friedman to add some tube tone to your amp sims.
@didinkh79293 жыл бұрын
In low dc voltage, opamp or transistor are better for buffer than tube. Inside Ibanez Tube screamer has input buffer use transistor 2sc1815 before drive stage and output buffer. I think 12au7 work better in low dc voltage than 12ax7.

the pre amp - or something like it is something i would use for playing through modelers or plugins to give it some life. that's basically what i see it as, and what Marty plugged it as being for. which is something i've wanted for a long time, i have to have tubes or a tube pre amp. modelers just still don't cut it. still rather use an old mp-1 or any old 80's 90's rack preamp for recording direct than any modern modeler or plugin. but i always figured some simple tube little pre that was reasonably cheap might help with using plugins but his thing is not cheap lol.

you could put the buffer infront of a recording interface to have some tube goodness in the Signal. Tried that with a bunch of pedals and it kinda works. AND if the tuner out serves a proper signal you could run another cable in your tube amp and use the buffer as a splitter.. but also there is a Behringer VT999 for around 60 bucks, which is ugly as hell and big, but it should do almost the same thing as the overdrive.
@FromZero2HD2 жыл бұрын
Used to have the vt999 and tried a few tubes in it, Tung Sol was pretty good through modelers, JJ was cool too, but kinda dark sounding as you would expect. Could probably experiment with this also and try different tubes. For the price, you could probably just get a tube driver pedal for massive tube sounds (more on the classic rock/blues/instrumental side though).
@angusorvid88402 жыл бұрын
My main issue with these pedals is the exposed nature of the tubes themselves. I would rather see them contained in metal housing like those old Mesa pedals. I've had too many spills with tubes over the years to want to use one of those things. They're like Fabergé eggs.
