2:36 hold this with vicegrips in your left hand. Ideally push the workpiece downwards flat against the table with force and prepare your arm for rotation if the drill grabs. For your tapping, put any 3/8" drive socket on the tap backwards, then put an Allen key/socket in the 12/6 point end. You can then use any ratchet you want in it

Hey, I stopped distributing this grinder but you can see how it all welds together and comes together on brian houses youtube page ❤ Im just leaving this video up because it seemed to help a lot of people 😅

Also the work rest bracket is supposed to be flush with end of the tubing. It should over hang a bit. Not sure exactly how much but you can watch the original video and he’ll tell you how much overhang you need.

Not supposed to be flush*^

Great video ............. just one question if I may, what is the wall thickness (Metric) of the tube steel hat you are using in your video. Thanks in advance.
@frissonsknives7 ай бұрын
4mm wall thickness, wish it was 5mm thick but thats impossible to find in Australia
@milnermoss64282 ай бұрын

A die grinder wittles out the seam the fastest, then a 1/2" belt grinder, but obviously both of those are only good for short length tubes.

Any metric plans available?
@frissonsknives Жыл бұрын
Hey basie, send us a message on facebook and I can hook you up with metric plans... do you live in australia? Also have you already bought brians plan set? If not I can send you a link (he doesn't appreciate me sending metric plan sets to people without them buying the plan set from him first..... lol, ill keep my opinion to myself on this matter 😅)

Should definitely use lubrication on your drilling and tapping. Surprised you haven’t broke a tap yet. Other then that nice work.
@frissonsknives Жыл бұрын
Haha lack of money leads me to destroy my drill tips every now and then by not using lubrication 😅 i affectionately referring to it as 'skull dragging' when I use the drill press without lube lol

You should never paint box section before welding. Plus use a vice grips and gloves.
@frissonsknives2 жыл бұрын
This comes pre painted from the metal supplier but good point none the less, its a pain in the ass removing the paint sometimes
@janeblogs3242 жыл бұрын
All rhs in aus is painted with a thin blue enamel. Comes off with any paint thinner on a rag. But you can MIG/arc straight through it. Its not plastic (acrylic/powdercoat)
