That's why I went for the Rode NTR. I wanted a vintage-style sound without the high maintenance of the tube. The ribbon sounds just like me with no coloration.

I've always been curious about the NTR, they didn't sell well but maybe that was the plan, make them special. I believe with the right voice they would sound great and it appears that is you. Love to hear a sample.

Nice work Andrew... must admit, I prefer solid state into Valve pres... which I'lll always warm for about 30mins. Also have one of those emulation mics, that you absolutely cannot run through a valve pre, at least if you want to be able to use the models correctly. Again, I personally think it is a case of "whatever is working the best for the case in point" To be honest Andrew, your would voice would still sound good talking through a Kazoo ;-)
