So what's the actual likelihood that tuberculosis would not only infect but kill a healthy late twenties to early thirties year old man like how it did in RDR2?

Infection occurs via inhaling particles containing the bacteria, those bacteria are dormant, and the infected shows no symptoms, this is called Latent Tuberculosis and it's not contagious. However, at any point in the infected persons life, the bacteria may activate and infect the lungs(and can spread to other organs), this is called TB Disease, and it's highly contagious, coughing, talking, and singing can spread the bacteria on to others. If left untreated, about half of of those infected will die from respiratory failure or pneumonia.

It killed Arthur because he lived a dangerous, unhealthy life. Getting stranded on an island like Guarma puts the immune system on a test which caused his TB infection move from latent to active really quickly

ok...so i received a TB vaccine as a child and every time i get TB tested it comes up positive. But when i enlisted in the us army they said if i test positive i HAVE the disease, (this was in BCT and i didnt argue). so my question is, who is right? do i have TB or am i reacting positive because of the vaccine? how would doctors know?
