i was "led" to your Umwelt Theory video following a dialogue with ChatGPT about my "Straws Theory" of cognition and perception. Then, as I dug deeper into your channel I discovered your Tubes and Frames thinking. A Jungian might call it synchronicity, others, kismet . . . by whatever formulation, I'm glad to have found you. This was my original ChatGPT prompt: "IMO, truly understanding the nature of reality would require an omniscient perspective humans are incapable of possessing. Because of the limits of our cognitive capacity and the bias of our sensory apparatus, our perception is constrained, resulting in humans viewing and analyzing reality through a straw(s) of varying apertures vs. processing the fullness of existence-much of which is imperceptible to us. Is there anything that resembles my straw formulation in the philosophy of science?"

Hi Rick. I wouldn't expect AI to know anything about human finitude and ignorance. We are finite, we are, of necessity, somewhat ignorant, but AI is fuelled with a techno-scientistic positivist assurance that wrongly believes some oracle called "science" has a grasp upon our being in the world. Philosophy and associated domains are full of countervailing perspectives, but they tend not to get amplified in the internet-text domain. Carry on filling the God Shaped hole in your own inimicable way!
