I was in Seattle watching that game & it was one of my most joyous moment ever. I loved it. I'm from NJ so I'm first a NYG fan (since the 1970's) & used to have season tickets through 1990. Then after I got out of the Navy I moved to Seattle & bought season tickets when Paul Allen announced that several thousand seats at the old Kingdome would be reduced to $10 a ticket. So with literally a $100 I got (as well as 4 friends) got the 8 home games and the two presseason games for $100 total for the season. Then we switched over to the new stadium once it was ready. The only thing that killed me about the Romo snap fumble was that The Tuna was their coach at the time. I felt bad for him considering all the joy of his overall record if 77-49-1 along with two Super Bowls.

Im a Chargers fan but I’ve always had so much respect for Tony Romo and thought he was probably one of the most underrated players of all time.. I mean to go from an undrafted free agent out of eastern Illinois university to being the cowboys all time leading passer, 4x pro bowler and an all pro is incredible.. but what makes me respect him so much is when he took a big hit against the 49ers that fractured three ribs and punctured his lung.. he came back into the game in the 4th quarter with the cowboys down 14-24 and led an insane comeback win in overtime.. most people can’t get out of bed with fractured ribs nor can barely breathe with a punctured lung let alone lead an NFL team in a comeback win.. I’ll always give Tony Romo the utmost respect and support for that single game alone..

You knew Barry Switzer was going to be a disaster if you followed college football in the 80's. Him and Troy Aikman have DEEP history. Troy was originally at Oklahoma when Barry was the head coach. He transferred to UCLA because of Barry and his soon to be archaic wishbone offense. THEN Oklahoma was caught in a scandal that could only be compared to Baylor as far as "lack of institutional control." In six months One player shot another, three were charged with r*, and their starting quarterback was arrested in a F.B.I drug sting. Brian Bosworth pretty much stated that this was a daily occurrence in the athletic dorm. It took 12 years and Bob Stoops to revive that program. No matter how you slice it Barry Switzer was gonna be a disaster.
@Travisesty11 ай бұрын
I don’t know how you can call a coach who won a SB a “disaster” and yeah OU had its issues……so did MIA, SMU and if NCCA went to any big college football program they’d find things too. Barry recruited players from Texas to go to OU and beats Texas every year is your problem. Cowboys have had how many coaches since Switzer and how many times has Dallas sniffed the SB??? Switzer is one of the best all around coaches ever and oh Aikman left cause he broke his ankle and Switzer brought in the back up and wishbone and OU started winning games again and Troy went to UCLA…OU wins the Championship. Yeah I think that worked out for Switzer OU 😊
@Kefvid11 ай бұрын
@Travisesty it's about his lack of responsibility. Do you not remember how long it took for OU to be relevant when he left. Btw Troy is a HOF, and so is Jimmy. I don't recall Barry making it there. He is in the college football HOF, which is a joke in itself.

As a DIEHARD Cowboys fan since the early ‘70’s, I will say, you did a fantastic job piecing it ALL together. I saw Jerry’s ‘60 Minutes’ interview where actually said he made a “Deal with the Devil” to get that 3rd ring. From that point on, I knew we would experience these type of seasons for the rest of Jerry’s life. One caveat I did mention to that with his prideful ego, he could very well win another SB, but what he would have to give up; 1) Lose ALL of his billions 2) Lay down his pride/ego and place the person he despises, Jimmy Jones into the RoH. Which do you think he would likely give up? The interesting thing is, if Jerry knew he could win a SB this year, he would place Jimmy in the RoH by THE Next Home Game. That goes to his Pride. Do we fans or the just the average person REALLY think we can tell an arrogant, self centered, egomaniacal ANYTHING? So Cowboys fans let’s just enjoy our them in hopes they’ll have winning seasons, maybe make the playoffs, a playoff win or two, BUT forget EVER making or winning a SB as long as Jerry walks the earth. 🎤

I don't often feel the need to stick up for the inimitable Glory Hole Days, but this time I almost feel called to.

As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan I experienced all of the joys and heartaches of the Cowboys from the 1968 season to the present. This guy knows his stuff. The truth hurts. But it's the truth. But the Cowboys had a few brief glimpses of brilliance in 2007 and 2016 and maybe a few other seasons as well. I always thought that that Tony Romo and Dak Prescott were like Don Meredith, Craig Morton and Danny White in that they were good quarterbacks but not great quarterbacks and could not get the Cowboys up to the next level and became great quarterbacks like Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. But Lizard Face Jerry Jones was and still is always there to ruin things.

It’s all Jerry’s fault. Not only did run Johnson off but has hired one weak has been coach after another.

Brad Johnson was NOT a bad QB! He got JOHN GRUDEN a Super Bowl win in Tampa Bay He got NORV TURNER in the PLAYOFFS in Washington. Not something a bad QB can do! Just not the spactacular flashy guy, but a solid, "We can still win this" solid guy!

Great video. I remember all of these seasons very well. Kinda funny that now i say Jerry must have made a deal with the devil back in the 90,s to win those Superbowls. As a Cowboys fan it's definitely frustrating how seasons come and go but never get anywhere special.
@montimiller2743 Жыл бұрын
I've said it before, that Dallas Cowboy team of the early 90's could've been the way we look at the Patriots of today winning at least 4-6 Super Bowls had they kept Jimmy. They are the only team in history to have the # 1 Defense and the #1 Offense throughout '92-'93, when you talk about a Super Team('94)that was a Dream Team(E.Smith, T.Aikman, M.Irvin, D.Johnston, L.Brown, T.Tolbert, D.Edwards, L.Allen, N.Newton, J. Garrett, D.Woodson, L.Lett, R.Maryland, E.Williams)and Top of that they stole Prime Time & Charles Haley from the 49ers!!!

28:54 Yes Bill Parcells resigned. But if you look into it, he was forced out. Just a few days before resigning, he was scouting for the teams next season. Had a chance for the Super Bowl, but once Bill put the pieces together, Jerry being Jerry had to go get himself a yes man in Wade, so he could take the credit if they did win it all . Thanks again Jerry……..

This was a great and extremely accurate depiction. WELL DONE. One correction: Troy retired from a chronic back, NOT concussions. I can't believe how badly that urban legend has festered.
@jabbertwardy11 ай бұрын
Aikman literally specified both the concussions and his back in his retirement speech: "I know it's the right thing for me because of my health, concussions, the back problems I've had," Aikman said. "It took its toll."

Eagles hand them the division on a silver platter with a monumental collapse. Refs handed them an illegitimate W against the Lions in week 17 after Detroit scores a go-ahead 2pt conversion with seconds left in the 4th quarter. Home field advantage in a playoff game against the youngest team in the league that barely snuck in the playoffs. AND THEY STILL GET BLOWN OUT AND EMBARRASSED. Pathetic.

There might as well not be any coaches and back office staff. Jerry Jones might as well be every position. His kind of attitude may work at first, like when the team first started under him, but after awhile, it fails. There is a campaign to try to get rid of him, hopefully it works. But it probably won't, because he's got the money from the team, so either they'll stay where they're at, or more likely, he will move the team to another state. He has been behind the Rams and Raiders moving.
@Jyfujmtg98 Жыл бұрын
Tony Romo has and always will be my favorite player, he was blamed for so much when he was literally the only reason the Cowboys were decent or good. Without Romo the team looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL. He had some of the worst defenses in NFL history and terrible O-lines until Jerry drafted one finally. Romo with the team Dak has now would probably have a ring. Watching that 49ers game last year made me wish we still had Romo because he would have likely won that game. I also really think he should have came back to the starter role in 2016, but of course Jason Garrett and tons of Cowboys fans wanted him gone. He deserved so much better.

Been a Cowboys fan since 1990 when I was 3 😂 my dad was a big Cowboys fan my whole life, that year when Romo bobbled the ball on the kick was the biggest gut punch, it really makes me sad that that team never won a superbowl 😔, I'll just be over here riding out all these bad years hoping for a good one.

I'm a cowboy fan, and I'm proud of being one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not as delusional to think they are winning the super bowl every year. But damn, I do remember this pretty well, I remember becoming a fan in the mid 90s because of course you had to love this team. And then, the dark times ... The team is good but it just falls a bit short ... next year should be the good one and then something ungodly happens... And back to square 1, it's comically how this pattern repeats non stop for the last 25 years or so. Oh well, hopefully this year will be a good one.

The recent failures of this team have brought other NFL fans joy for almost 30 years now. Especially since their fan’s boisterously rode the success of this team well into the 2010’s. But their reaction to their most recent disappointment is sad. Like they’re finally accepting mediocrity.

I loved how you respected Tony Romo’s skills throughout his career. I think we Cowboys fans are so hard on our criticism that we fail to see the good! Romos numbers are amongst the best ever. His numbers scream Hall of fame outside of a superbowl. One superbowl and Romo wears a gold jacket. There’s years that if only Dal D was halfway formidable than things could have been better. Than the years of injuries right before we transition to the back part of the season. Everyone surly remembers Ton’y interception on the final drive to win the biggest of games but they fail to recall how they got to within needing to score on the final drive. I remember watching and being so pissed off in the teams play as a whole and wanting to turn the tv off to out comes the Cowboys in the second half Romo doing his best impersonation of Payton Mannon at the no huddle hurry up reading the Defense and single handily put the offense on his shoulders and make miracles happen to give them that last shot only to throw a pick! I love Romo n all of the big 3’s. I’m a die hard Cowboys fan but there’s something about Jerry Jones that I really like! Great video n one last thing ya’ll “How bout them Cowboys!” N I want me some Glory hole!
