That play also almost never ends like that. Pats just played it well and it was unfortunate. Watch Bill Burr talk about the play he sums it up pretty well

Vince Lombardi coached Washington for one season in 1969 after Super Bowl 2. He died before he could coach his second during the ‘70 preseason. Also Shula wasn’t the Colts coach in Super Bowl V he was with the Dolphins at that point. Really good video tho.

1:47 Quick correction: Vince Lombardi actually coached one more season in 1969 with the Washington Redskins. Mr. Ball Control Vince Lombardi, in that season, ran a pass-first offense with the legendary Sonny Jergenson at Quarterback (the only pass-heavy season of his coaching career). He then died in September of 1970.

Some context you forgot about the Pats vs Panthers SB is that right after the Kasey kick the Pats got a OPI on the first play which put them back 15 yards aka at the 25 yard line having Tom to drive 75 total yards but got into position to win the Game and SBMVP

Having seen every SB since VI, I want to pass on kudos to this young man for putting together such a fine (fantastic) summary here.I admire the effort you put in to actually watch those games, and a great (professional level) job of narrating those summaries. Well researched, well reported and superbly executed. Sounds like you actually saw theise games. Kudos for doing so and for being this NFL - curious. Personally, I've only "re-watched" the SBs involving my Cowboys. My only criticism is the "Doomsday Defense" you pointed out in SB 12 was actually "Doomsday !!", as the first "Doomsday Defense" was the iteration in Super Bowl 4 (IV).

After the helicopter broncos drove for the td lead, GB then fumbled on the kickoff return. John elway tried to go for the kill on the very next play where he threw that INT to eugene robinson who played for the old afc west seattle seahawks and knew elway was going to try the kill. Good thing denver still pulled it out in the 4th.

Love the video and it's hard to get everything right but in Super Bowl V, the Colts were Coached by Don McCafferty. Don Shula was Coaching the Dolphins in 1970. Yeah the final score would've been 17-0 in Super Bowl VII if left-handed Garo Yepremian made the FG and didn't try that right-handed pass, allowing the Redskins to score the TD.
