Calf compression sleeves like marathon runners wear help my POTS symptoms, and they come in fun colors. Check out the 2xU brand. Putting on more leg muscle has also helped. Even doing a bunch of calf raises every day while wearing a heavy backpack can help over time. Sports drinks can also help, but might be challenging with severe gastroparesis. Some people benefit from IV saline infusions. The prokinetic Pyridostigmine might be interesting for you, since it can treat both POTS and gastroparesis. It's been a miracle for me with no side effects.

Thank you for sharing all these tips I will definitely look into them! Right now I use drip drop in my water and just hope that that is enough!

It was really cool watching you pack all the orders. I have my first GI appointment since my symptoms have gotten much worse in two weeks. I’m so nervous.

Aww thank you! And good luck, I am wishing you all the best and that they are able to find a solid treatment plan for you

I don't know much about IV infusions and fluids, but I do think you would benefit having them regularly! I've heard it does help with POTS and I do think you should try to ask about it from a doctor :)

Yay this was such a fun video! I love watching how your hard work pays off. Hope you get some rest & relief! Just curious--how did you switch from a dangler to a button for your GJ? Does it matter how many hours you run feeds?
@KennaKrueger2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I just asked my doctor if I was eligible for a button and she said yes and sent an order to IR who then contacted me to get it changed. I had to wait about 6-8 weeks after surgery to get it changed. And I don’t think it matters how many hours you run your feeds. I run my 24/7 and that is fine for both a dangler and button.

Nausea is awful. I hope it eases for you soon. Just curious, how did you cope with the food when you went to Joseph's Mum & Dad's house? I love how you wrap all the stuff up, especially the pink bags. Better than boring brown.

It has eased a little bit which I’m thankful for! I am able to eat little bits and they cooked something I could have bites of. I was still really nauseous this day so after I ate I felt really sick and took a zofran and laid on the couch while they finished lunch. They are really understanding. And thank you!

Aww I’m sorry! I took a week off this week but next week I’m going to get back to sewing and I plan on making more so hopefully more people can get it! I hope the gj surgery recovering is going all right! It’s rough at first but it does get better. You are all so sweet being there for me and supporting me it means the world to me!

Fludrocortisone calms my dizziness and heart rate problems. I also have POTS.
@KennaKrueger2 жыл бұрын
That is good to know! When I end up finding a doctor for pots I will have to ask about that!
@dcooper15352 жыл бұрын
My blood pressure got way too high on this, but sometimes POTS specialists will combo Fludrocortisone with another medication to counteract the hypertension if it becomes a problem. A good POTS specialist will have several different options to try in order to find what works best for each patient. (After finally being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos, my doctor will no longer put me on Fludrocortisone due to risk of ruptured blood vessels.)

It is wonderful to see your business doing so well! My gastroparesis symptoms have been worse this past week too. I rarely get sick too. I take propranolol to keep my heart rate from going too high. It works great with only a slight drop in blood pressure (my bp is 90/60 before propranolol). Compression socks and salt also help a lot.
@KennaKrueger2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I’ve heard propranolol is commonly used for pots. I need to find a doctor first for pots but the only thing I was worried about for that is that at night time my resting is usually low 50s into the 40s which I didn’t know if that drug would lower it even more. My bp can be both high, low and normal haha so im not sure what effect it would have on that! I’ll try wearing compression socks more and since this video I am working on increasing my salt intake!

Most people with POTS take fast acting propranolol. It wears off after a few hours. I take it on a schedule (4 times a day) because my pulse is 100’s at rest without it.
@dcooper15352 жыл бұрын
@@KennaKrueger My night time resting heart rate hangs around that 45-55 bpm range, too. Propranolol dropped my heart rate so low that I had an ischemic attack and mild stroke. My doctors switched me to alpha-2 agonists (Clonidine or Guanfacine) to treat my POTS, and I responded much better and my blood pressure is much more stable now. Hoping you can find a knowledgeable POTS specialist to find what works best for you. Always keep in mind that there are several different types of medications to treat POTS, so don't give up if the first medication doesn't work.
