Thanks for the great video and tips! I have a 16' Crestliner Retriever SC with 40 EFI Merc and it tows two adults with ease...the only issue was the line submerging. Your video with the Bobber is awesome and makes sense in that it keeps the nose of the tow float up. Just got a Tow Bobber from Amazon....can't wait to use it! Thanks again

I have an old, heavy 1976 Apollo 17' tri hull. It doesn't have a ski pylon so I also use a harness and the ball. The harness rides the rope so low to the water that without the ball the rope is constantly in the water which sucks! With the ball the rope tows perfectly. I also have a Merc 165 straight six i/o and a 17 pitch prop which pulls a small tube like it's not even back there. I barely even feel our big four person tube unless it's loaded down with it's 680 lb capacity.

How do you store the tube when not in use while in the water? Also if its big it takes up boat space, any suggestions on storing when on boat?

Thanks, was just out on the Chain of Lakes in Northern Wisconsin and saw this. Think I might pick one up so the little ones. Or for me 😆

Have you ever felt a need for a self centering tow harness? It's hard to find one with good reviews, but it seems like a good idea in theory.

Honestly I haven’t thought too much about it since we have such good luck and success with this setup!…kids have a blast and it works perfectly!

Not sure where to ask you but...the passenger foot rest compartment you have...is that stock or aftermarket?

Hey Jamey!…that came stock with the boat, I had it built with it, it’s an option you can add from the factory…thanks for watching!

Whats your top speed (all with one person) full tank of gas, and a half tank
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
Top speed I’ve seen was 66, that was under perfect conditions/half tank/by myself/full gear...I usually run low 60’s on a normal basis (60-63, depending on conditions of course)

Thanks for the vid...any chafing from the rope on the engine? Particularly on turns? Is that why you run with the cover (tuffskinz?)? I'm trying to figure out a similar solution with powerpoles. I don't have the holes on the brackets.
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
no prob, thanks for watching!...and no issues at all with rope rubbing on engine, it works out perfectly using the hole on the Talon brackets...rope never touches engine even on turns...let me know how you make out with the Poles and that set up!
@keremphoto59014 жыл бұрын
@@NitroZ18Fishing sure - I have a Ranger 520C with twin 8' powerpoles. The brackets are pretty close to the engine so I need to have a "guide" to keep the rope between engine and poles because the transom tow points are wider. Assuming your Y rope is the 12' version?
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
yepper, it's the 12'...here's the link to the exact one i bought if it would help!...www.amazon.com/dp/B000ZYCLHG/ref=dp_cerb_1
@keremphoto59014 жыл бұрын
quick update...used the Airhead 12' 4 person Y rope (clips are small and just fit the Ranger, they will not fit my 13' Whaler!!) lines went perfectly between the poles and engine with zero modifications.

I love the idea.how many people Can your boat support. It’s me my wife and 3 kids. 13, 11, 10 year olds. Me and the wife are around 170lb each. Would that boat or something like that be ok with they kind of weight?
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!...my boat legally can only carry 4 people, but as far as weight, absolutely!...I’ve pulled 2 full grown adults in a tube with myself and another adult in the boat, so you/your wife, and kids should be fine!...hope that helps, have fun!

Have you ever had any issues with the tube submarining? Was wondering, since your tie down attachments are right down at the water line - not sure if that could make the tube pull under water (esp. for heavy adults) if they don't really lean back.
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
Actually believe it or not it’s the exact opposite...when we first take off the tube goes back a little, even with adults...you almost feel like you’re going to tip backwards...lol
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
I think the booster ball may have something to do with it just because it keeps the ropes up higher

I am wanting to do this same setup in my z185. How long are the ropes(from the tie downs to the booster ball and the booster ball to the towable)?
@thekehoeshow.. Жыл бұрын
The ropes should come with the ball. They are normally 30feet before and 30 feet after.

What's a good boat motor that is fast enough for tubing, around 30-40nph?
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
that's a little tough to answer, all depends on boat and set up...but I would say at least a 75-115 at minimum...maybe even higher...hopefully someone can chime in and help out if they tube with a similar motor!
@mattcary80754 ай бұрын
my 115 hp merc on a 19 ft aluminum bass boat goes 50-55 with a 3 blade prop so it shouldn’t be a problem to tube going 30-40

If you have two kids and your wife how do you ride in the boat altogether? Serious question. Also do you ever fish wife and two kids in your boat? I guess I am assuming you have to kids vs. 1 kid and a friend but same question. I have a wife and 2 kids 11 and 7 and wonder how it would work taking everybody out as I see really only seats for 3 in most bass boats.
@NitroZ18Fishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark!...yes sir, I have a 10 and a 7 year old myself, so we’re in the same boat (no pun intended...lol)...my wife very rarely comes out on boat with us, but when she does she will sit on top of the cooler (this is technically the 4th legal seat on my Nitro)...not the most comfortable spot because there’s no cushion but it does the job for short trips...hope that helps!
