I love the show because of the mentors! These senior actors and directors are the "golden generation of Chinese cinema"! I would take lessons with any of them! They are real - frank, artistic, they don't hide their true stories... I sincerely admire them! They gave an example of the time when in China cinema is art, it was not poisoned by the idol culture and traffic, which turned it into cheap entertainment in a brothel :( Why does the actor have to give an explanation to the fans, as if he is a cleaner in a big company? Why fans should manage the actor when he don’t knows what is art? I really hope this show will have a positive influence on modern Chinese cinema and traffic stars without talent will finally learn the lesson- trends die, talent is eternal!❤

Lol I never watch or get entertained by the Chinese entertainment industry much. In a matter of fact just because I don't watch much doesn't mean I don't know furthermore I have close connection to those business ties in this industry. But you do realize why there are fans who drive what is expected of idols. Is all about the traffic which drives the individuals popularity and overall net wealth gain $ to the business. Is funny I grew up in the golden age of Chinese cinema and watch it in the same perspective as you. But obviously see a lot more than the shallow. In the end this show is pretty fake and boring as f anyways pretty waste of time

@@Simmayi No the show is not fake. You've obviously never been in this industry and don't know any famous educators! I have been in the business since I was 5 years old and yes, the greats speak like that - brutally, frankly and without any mercy! And it's extremely helpful for a new artist, because it teaches them to be resilient against the bumps in the industry! And if he can't stand it and has some talent, he better leave this industry and work somewhere else! It will save him a lot of wasted effort and hardship. That is why the cruel treatment in this case is absolutely justified - they should have clearly and precisely indicated who can continue in a highly competitive industry and who should leave it and save themselves from something they are not prepared for and cannot do!

@@KatieGeorgieva well it kinda is, maybe not in the way the mentors were behaving but during the opening when Fan Shi Qi was “late”, it was proven to be scripted and he was actually one of the earliest to arrive

@@maybenot5074 I don't think he's right. Rather, there is a pre-decision between the mentors about what they will say. I can tell you exactly what they decided beforehand - to leave the acrisa in the pink jacket (sorry I don't know her name) without a role the first time to teach her a lesson because she is arrogant! You are not evaluating something important - they know the participants in advance (they have information about them because they are in the industry, and there gossip spreads quickly, they also mentioned it). That's why they treated the late boy like that. They know what it's his behaviour with the shooting and how it works. That's why they taught Shen Yue a lesson to- they know she can't improvise at all and is actually stiff, only able to memorize a text . They knew about her artificial reaction of being "worried" (because it was actually a poorly acted scene by a bad actress) and that's why they reacted like that. I can tell you that yes, many of their opinions are predetermined and they actually try to "break" them on purpose - that's what they did with each of them.
