It wouldn’t of happened, since in the book if you read it the book pretty much tells you in a certain point that Jesse asks if Winnie could marry him when she is 17 and it’s not because he liked her, he just wanted someone with him, plus he wanted to travel the world since he could live forever. Then Angus wanted Winnie to not drink the water since he wanted her to live her life fullest and she wasn’t sure if she should but she only didn’t do it because of Angus.
