My grandmother taught me to sew at a young age. I am no2 a young adult, hoping to advance my skills past the level of childhood fancy into adult aptitude. Women like you are why I keep going. My grandma is in her mid 80s and starting to slow down now. I can't get quite as much guidance, as she lives far from me, and doesn't sew very often anymore, but every time I pick up a needle or press the peddle of a machine, I think of her. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Thank you for helping me continue in this long, generational passing of knowledge. Oh. You are also very funny, though I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that :)

What a perfect solution to hide that ugly 48" black TV screen! (I would attach a photo if I could figure out how -- take my word for it, the tucks look great!). Jennie, you spoke to my quilt guild in Chula Vista, California in maybe 2006?? I still remember you telling the group that "font makes a difference!" when you were telling us about your books. You were a hoot! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial on PINTUCKS. I know you go into much more than pintucks, but I want to tell you that searching under pintucks I watched at least 12 other videos and none of them came close to yours. You explain so many things that others leave out: the two donkeys, different ways to mark your fabric, sewing in one direction and then the other. I'm grateful I finally found yours (maybe because of the word 'tuck'?) I suggest you change your title to include the word pintuck, so others like me can find you more easily. You are a wonderful teach and you don't go into a bunch of confusing technical detail, for instance, when you say that sometimes the tucks are on the top and sometimes on the bottom (?) when you turn, but not to overthink it (my weakness) but just fold and sew towards the next donkey.
@JennieRaymentQuiltingQueen3 жыл бұрын
How very kind of you and I am glad that you have found the video helpful. I will add the word pintuck and Yes - I was wrong to omit it. Interestingly a pintuck used to be a fine tuck that you could insert a pin into - hence the name. You can make tucks this size on the machine using a pintuck foot and a twin needle - it has a series of grooves underneath. My first book 'Tuck Textures & Pleats' has a chapter on this. There you are - the teacher in me has to come out!!!

Hi! I love Frixion pens but I’m not sure I would use it on fabric. The ink disappears when you put heat on it but it’s visible again in cold temperatures. Great video.
@JennieRaymentQuiltingQueen2 жыл бұрын
yes I too wouldn't use on fabric - it not only apears when cold - they can damage the glaze on chintz and remove the dye on other materials - they are meant for paper but can be used on fabric with care. Thank you for your comment.
