I have a standard poodle puppy. His first bath was given by the breeder at 6 weeks old, he is bathed every single week with show quality shampoo (chris christensen). He has never given me any trouble with grooming. I brush his teeth twice a day, I wipe off his feet every time he comes inside, I spend an hour combing him daily, he falls asleep while I shave his feet and other body parts for the Continental clip. He sits down during a bath, loves it when I clean his ears, wears paw balm 3 times a day, I rinse his eyes out every morning then I wipe them with eye wipes, and I pluck his ears every month. It takes about 5-7 hours to groom him every week. I don't have a velocity dryer yet but I will be buying one next week, it will cut down the grooming time a bit. Dogs should be bathed weekly from puppyhood, they should have their teeth brushed daily, and their ears should be cleaned a few times every week depending on the bottle instructions. If you have a puppy, use puppy toothpaste with cloves, it helps numb their gums which can help teething pain.

I'm just blown away by how well-behaved, calm and patient Tucker is. Most dogs I know would be shaking off the water as soon they get wet but this good boy seems to be enjoying his spa treatment. ❤
