“Estudios Efímeros” is a work for solo bandoneon, an instrument that is closely related to Argentinean Tango.
These Études, or studies, however, do not delve into tango music but are more closely related to Western classical music.
In the 19th Century, composers such as Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, and many others, elevated the Étude to a true art form.
In that way, a particular technical challenge was treated in one single étude, without this meaning it would be a musically uninterested piece.
Études were so refined that they became concert pieces in their own right.
With this in mind, I present this first book of 6 Études out of a total of 14. These first six are exclusively dedicated to developing different techniques for the left hand alone.
In these pages, you will find two complete versions of these 6 pieces. The first version has my fingering suggestions as well as my suggestions as to where to push or pull the bellows. This is for consideration exclusively with the Rheinische Tonlage (bisonoric) system which is the most popular bandoneon keyboard layout system.
The second version has no fingerings and no bellow markings and is intended for other bandoneon systems, for accordions, or for other instruments that have no use for these markings.
