Thanks for another great podcast….one of my very favourites. My friends and I get together every two weeks to knit, chat, and share our projects. They were a real lifeline throughout the pandemic. One of my friends has a beautiful back porch complete with excellent lighting. We gathered together throughout the pandemic into December and then as soon as the weather was warm enough in the spring in our winter gear, as we live in Ontario. This has become my favourite place….great friends, great conversations and community, and fond memories.

I'm part of a knitting group that meets monthly at a cafe. The group was formed 4 years ago as an offshoot of a meetup group for women wanting to make new friends. Before I moved to a new town a year before that, I'd never been part of a knitting group and it was just a revelation. I don't see most of them anywhere else and most of us probably wouldn't particularly be friends if we met any other way, but there's just something about getting together and crafting together that we all absolutely cherish. For me it's the highlight of the month. A few day before, I start feeling excited and making sure I have something cast on that's easy to work on while chatting (knit group is my least productive actual knitting time). It's also a great incentive to get things finished for a bit of show and tell. So that's my favourite knitting with friends time. The rest of the month I love to knit alongside podcasts.
