I like you guys so much I wish we were neighbors! (& I don't think that of many, incl. some of my neighbors) Marc, I'm wishing you the best on this newest phase of your health journey. As someone who has dealt with Lupus for @ 30 yrs. now, I understand a bit of what you speak of. Glad that you'll be chronicling it, for all the reasons you two state. Steve got it spot on when he spoke of how some of us are now pretty much "home bound" and isolated from others IRL, and that isn't even factoring in the COVID schtuff. It's nice to be able to share with others, the good and the bad. I think it does make it all less "crazy making". You both seem to have the right attitude o' gratitude, which aids a LOT. Some days it isn't easy to be grateful for a heck of a lot, it seems, but when you can focus on the blessings you DO have, you have less time to think about the ones you don't. TY, TC, and give Bandit a thanks for the kitty kiss! He is a very handsome lil' guy. :)

I totally agree with you both....Not all illness is visible and people can be too quick to judge others and under estimate what a person is dealing with and going through. They sometimes have their own opinion on your illness and yet they they do not walk in your shoes, do not deal with your pain and do not have to take your medications or endure the side effects, do not have to see specialists, undergo medical testing and they also do not have to pay all the medical bills and co-pays for everything involved....For a stranger to look at me they would never know I suffer from "C.R.P.S." which is listed as the highest form of physical pain on the "McGill Human Pain Scale" and after having physical therapy, pool therapy, medications, nerve block injections etc I am now going through the steps to have a Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant trial as ongoing nerve block injections are not a viable long term treatment or solution for my permanent nerve damage resulting from several surgeries. Everyone is fighting their own private battles whether physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, family, relatives, work, bills etc....We can all enjoy fun as well as being kind to each other in our thoughts, deeds, words, wishes and actions. Your channel promotes positivity, kindness, compassion, understanding and support no matter what and you two are real and honest and this community is so great and respectful because you bring truth and we love you for this. 💕☘

Dear Mark, this might sound crazy and not something of interest but I've been learning a lot about the carnivore diet and autoimmune conditions. Mikhaila Peterson and many others have very interesting stories about pretty miraculous healing with this way of eating. I wish you all the best. You are such a genuine and wonderful person. I would love for you to find a way to feel better. All the best in your path of discovering what is best for you. I know there are answers out there that can be helpful.

As someone who suffers with an Immune disease, I get told.. Well you don't look sick. I can't stand now when someone says that. I take liquid Prednisone 30mgs twice a day along with other prescribed meds, and without those I couldn't even get out of bed.

Marc you can not fall if you have rheumatoid arthritis. My mother who had R.A. broke so many bones. She broke both arms, both legs, broke her tailbone multiple times, many many ribs. She refused to use a cane or walker till she broke her right leg again and the bone came through the skin. Then places she broke on her leg would have fluid build up and have to be drained. Also remember R.A. people take longer to heal, so don't be embarrassed to use a cane now, it might save you from a fall or make a fall less costly.

Finch Harper RA does not cause you to break bones. I have RA and fall a lot. However, I have excellent bone density. My experience and understanding is that RA on its own does not make you any more prone to breaking bones. Your mom must have had other factors influencing that.

@@MissMcPhoebe To be more specific Adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have an increased risk of falls. Suggested reasons for this include impaired muscle strength, postural instability, fatigue, joint pain, and reduced functioning. The falls also lead to an increased risk of hip fractures due to disease-related reduced bone mass. My mother's medications also severely affected her bone density as well as general mobility. The RA also turned her toes side ways as she got older and she needed special shoes. Her knees would swell up like balloons and would also lead to falling more due to pain. So regardless of bone density, people with RA are more prone to fall more and falling more can lead to bone breakage. In addition, pain and loss of joint function caused by the disease can result in inactivity, further increasing osteoporosis risk. My mother had osteoporosis. Studies also show that bone loss in rheumatoid arthritis may occur as a direct result of the disease. The bone loss is most pronounced in areas immediately surrounding the affected joints Sorry I wasn't more clear.

@@MissMcPhoebe Please be careful and take care and do everything you can to reduce your falls. My mother thought canes and walkers made her look old and it was a fight to get her to use them because of the stigma society puts on them. I say if it makes you safer and extends your life and quality of life use it, who cares what other people think.

I know...and thank you. The worst part about these illnesses is not being able to trust your body anymore. I hate it. To top it off, I am ‘loose jointed’. My ankles are the worst, and can go without warning. I always thought it was a good thing, in the sense that a break is worse than a sprain. But, then, I (literally) stepped into a hole in someone’s lawn and got a 3 ligament sprain in my right ankle. My PT said I would have been better off breaking it; because every time you have a bad sprain, it is always a bit weaker afterwards. On the plus side, I’ve have bone density tests, and I am in good shape there. I try to be careful, but...

Definitely feel free to interrupt - “I’m sorry sir/madam but I want to make sure that you get the right person who can help you- are you calling regarding your benefits? Ok, great, I’m in the mental health services and don’t handle finances so I’m going to transfer you to so-n-so. Their extension is xyz if you get disconnected. Have a good day!”
