Are the blue and whites the reason you do the flip at 8:21 and not just do R2 Uw2 to pair it up?

Wow, I thought you're supposed to put the first 4 edges in the bottom for better lookahead for the remaining 8 edges. Coming from Yau, it's super awkward to always search the bottom and top layer (I don't have any memory for pieces other than the ones I'm currently looking for).

Why don't you do Rw' Lw' U' Rw Lw at 3:12? Would be fewer moves and keeps more pieces in the same position, which may lead to better lookahead

The Ace of Cubes he uses reduction because he is so used to it and because reduction is easier and all WR are on reduction. You can check his vid : freeslice vs yau . I think that is what it is called
