How many inches off the ground will the wood be when laid on the tuffblock? Looks like 2” to 2.5” perhaps?

The base of the Tuffblock where the joist sits is 50mm (2 inches) off the ground.

Are tuff blocks only made and only used for decking purposes? Want to know if I can use this product so I can install an upright post without having to dig holes for posts that are approx 1.8m - 2.0m high?

TuffBlocks can be used for raised decks so long as the subframe isn't higher than 3ft in US or 1m in Australia. Although this can be shorter in some regions.

What if the concrete is not level? Can you put the tuff block on top?

There are some adjustments you can make. The post slot allows you to make adjustments going up and down so one method could be to cut 4x4 posts at varying heights to account for the slope. This was done successfully in our walkway video where posts as small as 10mm were cut as adjustments for the joists: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoPYf35njLqMrbM

Hi mate, l had planned to build a deck for a spa with Tuff Blocks, but the guy at NHS seemed quite scared at this and said l would still need concrete posts to put these on instead of putting them on the ground. Have these been used for spa's?

Hey thanks for getting in touch. How high is the deck? And is it attached to any surrounding structures. In theory if it's a low deck that's floating then TuffBlocks should work perfectly fine and are more than capable of holding the weight. Anything below 24" is going to work great with posts. If you want to discuss in more detail we'd be happy to run through the project with you. Feel free to email 'marketing@buildtuff.com'

For a low level walkway then TuffBlocks will definitely work well. Check out this video at 1min 03 seconds and you'll see a walkway built using TuffBlock: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmW0nnSaj6uefas
