Thank you for this video b/c this chick wasn't feeling the lack of instructions. I got it together but the video confirmed what I did! :)

Larger wheels will give you a better mechanical advantage, especially off-road, and can help you climb curbs. No fenders on the dolly means that you can pick whichever tire size and width that works best for your needs. Looking forward to more Valiant & Big Red videos too!

I was thinking about this...have a trailer and log splitter that it would work great with...

Thanks man! I know this vid is 3 years old but I need me a dolly for my tent trailer and wondered if it could handle it. I would say so. SOLD!

Bought mine from Harbor Freight for my log splitter, only difference is I had to switch out the ball hitch that came with the dolly for a 2 inch ball so that way I can transport the splitter by hand wherever I go
@savage11082 жыл бұрын
Dustin , does the dolly roll ok on grass moving a log splitter ?

I bent the crap out of mine... I would recommend welding a plate on the triangle that holds the ball. Banged mine back into place and welded a 1/4” plate....hopefully it’s stronger. “I was towing a 16’ car hauler”. Maybe it was just too much for the little guy.
@TheGasTap5 жыл бұрын
lol. I was lucky. I moved an 18ft car hauler ok. Probably bend next time if i don't reinforce it.
@mjbarran5 жыл бұрын
only suggestion is to have your camera placed so your assembly is not at the bottom of the screen and hard to see. Otherwise, your video really helped me.

Thanks for the video. Any ideas on how to beef up the dolly or find a stronger dolly for a heavier weight trailer? We have a camping trailer in an remote location where we don't have access to a vehicle which can move, but looking into if we can move with winches - just not sure what to do with the tongue jack.
@TheGasTap5 жыл бұрын
I would use a solid rubber tire. Other than that it seems pretty strong. I moved an 18ft car hauler with it.

Terrific video! My trailer has a 2” ball. Will the 1 7/8” ball hitch work on a 2” ball?
@TheGasTap2 жыл бұрын
I use the 1 7/8 for my dolly. It’s only moving around the yard.
@stanleykeith69694 жыл бұрын
I just got one on 3/17/2020 for $39.99 + tax on sale from Harbor Freight with a coupon. The only thing the tires needed air. Could have came with a few more washers. Easy to put together. The ball is only a 1 7/8 ". I need a 2" ball.
@TheGasTap4 жыл бұрын
I use the 1 7/8. For around the yard, a 2 won't fall off.
@HerrP583 жыл бұрын
There is no way to use a 2 inch ball on this dolly. The shafts are too long to fit into the tight space. I looked all over and also called Harbor Freight. Tech said it's a no go. So I'm looking elsewhere for my tent trailer.

Good work. I like it. Idea: get a longer axle and put dual wheels on each end. Would that make it easier to move around in the soft ground?
@TheGasTap5 жыл бұрын
that or taller tires. and i was thinking about solid tires also.

Thanks. Would you still recommend it after a year of use. I’d need this thing for my 1100 lbs, single axle cargo trailer to push it through about 60-80 ft of grass.
@TheGasTap4 жыл бұрын
me and my dad have them. It works great for us. You may want to get some solid tire/wheel combos to fit it in the long run. I did use it to move my two axle car trailer. It worked but worked me harder trying to push it
