It looks like your clay is white earthenware. That type of clay is low fire...like cone 04 for the glaze firing. Your pieces are lovely. I hope you take a real shine to pottery. Your decorating is very nice.

Might I suggest you wait until the clay becomes leather hard before you carve into it. You will have more control and precision. Great idea and best of luck.
