It's our first day in Islamorada and we try our luck off shore... weather and wind were not in our favor. We catch dinner and make blackened mahi with pineapple salsa.

Happy Father's day Ian! Another great video, Can't beat boat days in the Keys even when it's not a boat limit (that's real life). I've noticed the Jalapeno thing too, my wife now gets our peppers, mangos, and avocados from a local Latino grocery store, they seem to have the hook up on the good stuff. Love spending my Sunday nights watching these videos, have a great time down there.

chilis are so easy to grow we stopped buying peppers at store cause yes they dont have flavor nor are they hot. its funny here in texas the chili pequin is native to texas, its a little red berry like pepper but its fairly hot, and is used to make salsa for tacos, they grow in the wild and they are very winter resistant and they come back every winter here, the bush we had last year came back and is double the size and i gotta pull em off tomarrow. cayenne peppers are very easy to grow as well and ripen faster then jalapenos or serranos. that dish you made i used to make that in a food prep kitchen for workout meals. the rice had black beans in it mixed with lime juice and cilantro, with the mahi, i personally wasnt a fan of mahi when i tried it, it tasted squiddy to me, even though i love squid, maybe one day ill try a fresh one.

As always, awesome video! The thing that sucks is, you only post new content once per week. It would rock if you were to post on a more frequent schedule consisting of at least 3 or 4 per week. It will give us as the viewers more to watch and it will also give your channel a ton more popularity and give you more views/subs etc. Up to you, but I wouldnt be mad at seeing 3 or 4 new vids/ wk :)

2 things.... 1st, the peppers - home grown chili peppers grown in the south, with a lot of sunshine, and dry conditions (the sandy soil of Florida qualifies because it allows the water to drain off quickly), make the capsaicin stronger. 2nd - I worked in Ft. Myers for a few months and saw the crowd of people watching the sun set. Having worked in construction all day in the blazing sun, I wasn't wanting to sit there watching the sun go down,, but after the 5th day of going to this little dive (that was beside a pier and had some ice cold drinks and amazing food) curiosity got the best of me and I strolled over to see what it was all about. A little old lady looked at me, put a finger to her mouth to hush me, and pointed at the sunset saying "try to see the 'green flash'!" I really wanted to ask what the hell was she talking about, but she was so intent on looking I couldn't. Then I noticed everyone else was watching intently also! So I just turned to watch as the last sliver of the sun disappeared... and OMG! THERE IT WAS! For a slit second there was a brilliant flash of green light! It doesn't happen often, and it's so quick it's virtually impossible to capture it on film,, but to see it for yourself is truly amazing! But.... when I turned back to look at the little old lady, the smile on her face was just as remarkable! With a tear of joy trailing down her cheek she looked at me and said "that was the 5th time I've seen it in my 88 years,, I wasn't sure I'd ever get to see it again before I die!" Our construction crew went to her funeral a week later.
