She is right. A pronoun (I, me, he, she, herself, you, it, that, they, each, few, many, who, whoever, whose, someone, everybody, etc.) is a word that takes the place of a noun.

my vivid tuition memory: geography teacher writing notes across a white board and we have to copy everything, then he will rub off one side of it so we have to make sure we finish writing EVERYTHING he wrote and make sure we don't slack off. also, history teacher, pronouncing portugese names. damn funny. albuquerque as al-boo-quek-quek.

When I looked back, I went through home tuition(back in elementary) and tuition centre (back in high school) but the centre is more like a home school. For the tuition life, I was quite fortunate to have great teachers as it was one-on-one. When I was in elementary, my maths teacher came up to my mom and offered to teach me during weekends. UPSR year, she then offered to teach English. In the end, I made her proud by achieving A in both Maths and English. Going to my high school, thought was doing well when changing the syllabus to Cambridge, but I went back to square one. Failed my maths again. Then, my mom sent me to a tuition class. Surprisingly, the tuition name speaks for itself. Literally can help to achieve high grades for IGCSE.. Thus, during that time, I went for Maths, Add Maths and Chemistry class but all three was like a different time. I spent in that centre for 2 years. Biggest irony of all is that I took Mathematics as my degree (T_T)

This topic brings back so much tuition memories, lol. I took tuition for 6 subjects - BM, English, Add Math, Chemistry, Physics & Accounts, each class is about 2 hrs. So it’s about 12 hours per week.. oh lord, how did I survived that...

I would think educational systems does make a difference. Studied in Malaysia with full-on tuition classes with bad grades, and studying abroad without tuition classes but scored highly🧐🧐

During form 5, all my friends went to BM tuition till the point that I kinda fomo a bit. And during SPM time, it seems they all had a standard template answer which they receive from their tuition and hit the jackpot when the essay question came out while I just write whatever that comes in my mind.. In the end i got A in my BM while some of my friends who went for tuition didnt.. Houuuuuyeaaaa

I still go for English tuition in Singapore because to parents A is for average. And I always hear teachers complain about giving one set of homework and having to mark 40 sets, while we only did one set each. So I always help my teachers mark one set lesser 😂 thank god its all over

Well...If you look at the normal time in school and also the workload that a normal teacher has, we can't totally blame the teachers (speaking for myself) as we do do our best to provide what's needed to the kids. The stereotype towards the teacher not teaching has to depend on a case to case basis (sorry, am butt hurt when the discussion turned to the teacher not doing their job...😢😅)

Mind blown fact: Actually, the way you all pronounce ‘too-shen’ is not based on the english word ‘tuition’ but the malay word ‘tuisyen’. Basically, yall speaking rojak la. XD.
